How many British flags can you fit in one photograph?

I've left the fever of the media tribunes to mix it up over here with fans. They are gripped and the only seat you can get in this stand is in the aisle.

"We love you GB, we do," comes the cry.

The first five minutes of this third quarter have passed without incident, a world away from the chaos of the second quarter. Remember, if this is level after the hour, it's straight to penalties.

I would like GB to try and put the pressure on a little more and win the ball further up the field so they haven't got as far to run to get to the Dutch circle.

GB's 3-0 semi-final against New Zealand win was brutal. Balls and sticks clashing with flesh and bone. None of that just yet. Pretty sedate first couple of minutes in this second half.

Here we go then. 30 minutes to decide the Olympic champions. Second half under way.

Kate French is Britain's highest-placed athlete going into the final round of the modern pentathlon.

The 25-year-old from Kent is ninth ahead of the combined running/shooting event, 53 seconds behind leader Oktawia Nowacka of Poland.

Athletes are ranked in the order which they cross the finish line and it is not uncommon for competitors to make up deficits of 30 seconds or more.

French is 29 seconds behind Canada's Melanie McCann, who currently occupies third place. Team-mate Samantha Murray - the silver medallist at London 2012 - is way back in 18th place.

The USA men's basketball team have made it through to their third consecutive men's final at the Olympics after a closely contested semi-final with Spain. 

The defending champions led by only four points at halftime but dominated play in the second half to beat their European rivals 82-76. 

During that first half, Great Britain's Lutalo Muhammad made it through to men's -80kg taekwondo final by defeating Azerbaijan's Milad Beigi Harchegani.
