    Women's pole vault

So close, but so far. Holly Bradshaw's third and final attempt at 4.80m is her best yet, she is actually over the bar but nicks it on her way past and it wobbles and falls.

She misses out on a medal.

Holly Bradshaw is a long way away from her second attempt at 4.80m. One life left.

She is in fourth as it stands.

    Men's 4x100m relay final (02:35 BST)

Lord Sebastian Coe pays tribute to the one and only Usain Bolt:

"The man is a genius. There's been nobody since Muhammad Ali who's got remotely near to what this guy has done in terms of grabbing the public imagination.

"If you'd said to me back in 2008, given the average longevity of sprinters, that this guy would still be doing what he's still doing two Games later, you would have taken long odds on it."

    35 minutes to Bolt

Just time to put the kettle on, maybe rustle up some cheese on toast.

We have the women's 4x100m relay at 02:15 BST and then the men's at 02:35 BST.

Usain Bolt to win his ninth gold?

    Men's -80kg

Fifteen minutes away from Great Britain winning another medal, the only question is what colour?

Lutalo Muhammad is in the -80kg taekwondo final, up against Ivory Coast's Cheick Sallah Cisse.

London 2012 bronze medallist Muhammad is looking to join Jade Jones as a gold medallist in Rio. Will he do it? You can find out by watching here, or listen on BBC Radio 5 live from 02:15 BST.

We all expected Ayana to win it but her 10,000m race took more out of her than we thought. It obviously hurt her.

    Men's 4x400m heats

Controversy in Rio as Great Britain's men are disqualified from the 4x400m apparently after Martyn Rooney stepped outside of his zone in their winning run. Not been confirmed yet though. Here's the conclusion of the race.

  9. Olympic Record - Vivian Cheruiyotpublished at 01:57 British Summer Time 20 August 2016

That's an Olympic record too for Vivian Cheruiyot of Kenya, clocking 14:26.17.

    Women's 5,000m

A stunning win for Vivian Cheruiyot! She wins by a huge margin in the end, with Almaz Ayana only third behind Hellen Obiri.

British runner Eilish McColgan looks in agony down the home straight but she kicks on to finish.

    Women's 5,000m final

Well, I didn't see that coming! Almaz Ayana went too far, too soon. She saw the whole of the moon, but she isn't going to see gold medal as she is swallowed up by Vivian Cheruiyot. Who goes away...

    Men's 4x400m heats

    BBC Radio 5 Live

Martyn Rooney on disqualification: "The guys were incredible I was so proud of how they ran but to then somehow get DQ'd with a world lead...I don't know.

"In the first change over you have to be between two red lines which are about 20m apart. You have to stay within those red lines. From then on there is a solid red line across the track which is about 10m before the finish line and 10m afterwards you have to exchange within the zones. I haven't seen it, but I can't see how any of us went outside those zones."

    Women's 5,000m final

The world record stands at 14:11.15. I don't think Almaz Ayana can get near that because of the slow start. But you never know. She is destroying the field.

Is this now a time trial? Almaz Ayana has gone away from the field at the halfway mark, leaving them in her wake with a 65 second lap. She has a huge lead already.

If you want to see grit - check out American runner Abbey D'Agostino, who ran more than a mile to complete her Olympic 5,000m heat despite tearing her anterior cruciate knee ligament.

Unsurprisingly, she has not made this final...

    Women's 5,000m final

I wouldn't say that Almaz Ayana was favourite for this race, but she ran the second half of that 10,000m win last week in a time faster than anyone in this field has clocked in a 5k.

Nine laps to go. Slow paced so far.
