  2. Re-cap two: Wigan outplayed by Brisbanepublished at 19:56

Leeds Rhinos v North Queensland Cowboys (19:00 GMT)

Brisbane ensured the bragging rights, if there ever were any, remained in the southern hemisphere with a victory against Wigan to make it 2-0 in the World Club Series.

Once Corey Oates got a first try for the Broncos it was one-way traffic, and the loss of Michael McIlorum to a suspected broken ankle was salt in the wounds for the Warriors.

Another Nikorima played a key part, with Jayden's brother Kodi stepping up to torment from the halves and score two tries.

Friday night seems a long time ago now but the memories will be fresh in the mind of those of a Saints persuasion, as Sydney Roosters ran out convincing winners at Langtree Park.

Saints were unpicked by a young halves pairing of Jayden Nikorima and Jackson Hastings who dictated play neatly, bringing a talented back-line and powerful pack into play.

Dominique Peyroux's two tries were rare flickers of positivity for St Helens, as the NRL went one-nil up in the series.

Here's Phil Cartwright's report of game one in the World Club Series.

Well it's been a bit closer than the previous two hasn't it?

The conditions have been tough for both sides but they've tried to play, no doubt about it.

If you don't know what happened over the last two days (where have you been?!) then here's a quick recap.

    For those who know... sorry.

Absolutely superb scrambling defence from Leeds. It was imperative they didn't concede in their last set of six. It's shown they're up for this fight.

HT: Leeds Rhinos 4-4 North Queensland Cowboys

Scintillating, open, fluid, frantic first half of rugby league.

    Marvellous.

Michael Morgan went over the stripe on the back of a beautiful Johnathan Thurston pass to give the Cowboys the lead.

It was harsh on a Leeds side who were so close to the line on several occasions, but they got their reward when Rob Burrow crossed once a great Liam Sutcliffe intercept had created the field position.

Right, get your breath back, cos there's another 40 where that came from!

  7. Leeds Rhinos 4-4 North Queensland Cowboyspublished at 39 mins

Cowboys stopped just five out... last tackle turns to zero tackle...

Leeds need to hang on here til the break!

  8. Leeds Rhinos 4-4 North Queensland Cowboyspublished at 35 mins

John Asiata failed to peel away from the ruck and Leeds got a penalty.

They've gone down the right and then moved to the left. Keith Galloway stopped! Somehow... Ryan Hall unable to offload to a man and the Cowboys survive.

Real ebb and flow to this. Both teams are playing Grand Final football. Cup final stuff.

Rob Burrow dives over and Leeds are on the board! Brilliant intercept breakaway by Liam Sutcliffe took Rhinos deep inside the Cowboys half and when the ball was recycled quickly - Adam Cuthbertson offloaded to Burrow to score.

Jordan Lilley unable to clip the kick through. Level pegging though!

    LIAM SUTCLIFFE INTERCEPT!

FINALLY BROUGHT DOWN 30 AWAY... WOW.

Big kick to touch by the Cowboys gets them midway inside the Rhinos half.

    Worrying signs for the Rhinos.

  13. Leeds Rhinos 0-4 North Queensland Cowboyspublished at 29 mins

Great kick by Kallum Watkins and a strong chase but Lachlan Coote just zipped away from his own in-goal area...

However the Cowboys cough up the ball with a forward pass to give the home side scrum head-and-feed in the visitors half.

  14. Leeds Rhinos 0-4 North Queensland Cowboyspublished at 28 mins

What is it with North Queensland's back-rowers and kicking the ball?! Ethan Lowe and then Gavin Cooper?!

You've got Johnathan Thurston in your team... give it him.

  15. Leeds Rhinos 0-4 North Queensland Cowboyspublished at 27 mins

Penalty for Leeds. Jake Granville pinged for interference.

Then Brett Ferres offloads loosely and it goes straight to Gavin Cooper. Sloppy.

  16. Leeds Rhinos 0-4 North Queensland Cowboyspublished at 26 mins

Leeds have to show a bit of character now. They've shown their threat but are behind.

Michael Morgan was switched from full-back to play in the halves for North Queensland by coach Paul Green and you could see that vision there for the try. Arriving late, from deep, onto passes like that from Johnathan Thurston.

Leeds get a scrum for a knock-on by Kyle Feldt and in a good position too.

When Johnathan Thurston gets the play-the-ball on his terms, he takes it and engages defenders. It was a sensational pass. Superb from the Cowboys.

Well, well, well. That is why North Queensland are the NRL premiers. Johnathan Thurston just delayed his pass beautifully to put Michael Morgan through, he'd held his run wonderfully.

It's been all Leeds in the last five minutes, but the Cowboys have gone ahead.

Thurston pulls the kick wide and the first signs of dissent toward the future 'Immortal' ring around Headingley!

  19. Leeds Rhinos 0-0 North Queensland Cowboyspublished at 21 mins

Leeds look very dangerous with ball in hand, nothing like as daunted as St Helens and Wigan have looked in the previous two WCS games.

That said, the Cowboys keep sliding their defence across to shut down the gaps. They've not been properly breached.

Leeds will want points to match their effort.

  20. Leeds Rhinos 0-0 North Queensland Cowboyspublished at 19 mins

James Tamou has played State of Origin, he is used to dealing with pressure but Keith Galloway had him fired up a minute ago with a bruising hit.

Rob Burrow gets Leeds on the front-foot with a typical scampering break. Cowboys still hold firm though.
