What a game. Saints, despite losing Kyle Amor early on in the game to a red card, kept up the fight against Wigan until midway in the second half when they pulled away.

Whether it was fatigue or Wigan's extra man that told, there is much to be proud of particularly in the debut of Regan Grace who looked at home on the wing.

The interim coaching team of Jamahl Lolesi, Sean Long and Derek Traynor have done themselves proud after the departure of Keiron Cunningham.

Two tries for Joe Burgess and Liam Marshall and a Liam Farrell score ensure that Wigan come away with the two points to end their losing run.

St Helens were extremely brave, battling away with tries from Morgan Knowles, debutant Regan Grace and Tommy Makinson.

However, the Warriors lived up to their name, showing their mettle to record the win. What a thrilling derby.

Saints, desperate and time running out, went for broke but kicked straight to Wigan player.

What I love about George Williams is he plays in Wigan's structures, which can be very rigid, extremely well.

But he also has a touch of ingenuity and off-the-cuff as was shown there.
