Well it wasn't to be for Great Britain despite their late efforts. New Zealand seize victory in the first of this year's Tests.

These two sides will do it all again next week as the Lions battle to level up the series.

We're at the halfway point of Great Britain's 2019 tour down under.

They play New Zealand again next Saturday (9 November) before rounding things off in Port Moresby against Papua New Guinea on 16 November.

The slippery former Salford man gains a fair bit of ground and Great Britain get into the Kiwis' 10 from pretty much nothing.

A hopeful kick into the in-goal area is recaptured by the hosts, however.

You talk about momentum and you have to feel that Great Britain have got that now.

This match so far is a tale of two halves and Great Britain look a different side in the second. Quite frankly, not in a good way.

A quarter of an hour remains and the Lions need to get their heads together to overturn this New Zealand lead.

New Zealand just aren't letting up here and Great Britain cannot find a way through despite being camped in the Kiwis' 10.

Did the two off-the-ball incidents get to their heads? You be the judge. But the Lions need to make opportunities like this count.

This is firing up and there's more frustration, more pushing and more shoving from the restart, moments after New Zealand concede a penalty deep within their own 10 from the James Graham incident.

This time it involves Roger Tuivasa-Sheck and John Bateman.

Both captains are warned and the game continues.

The last thing Great Britain need right now is to lose their heads.

James Graham comes off worse in a late tackle from Joseph Tapine and there's a fair bit of afters and pushing and shoving from both sides in the aftermath.

If you're just joining us, having held a dominant Great Britain side in the first half, New Zealand have stormed out of the blocks since the restart and have scored two quickfire tries and had one ruled out.

The Lions need a score and need one quick. Having looked assured with the ball in the first half, they have struggled to gain much of a foothold in the second.
