A statement has just been read out at St James' Park after the technical difficulties in the opening ceremony.
Organisers say: "We would like to apologise for the stadium disruption before the game.
"It wasn't the start we wanted but we want to thank the fans for their patience."
England 18-6 Samoa
England's half. But Samoa have come back into it.

That was almost the worst possible end to the half for England.
England 18-6 Samoa
Knock on given. No try.
That could have gone either way.
Stephen Crichton may have grounded this you know...
England 18-6 Samoa
A kick behind is grounded by Samoa. Or is it?
England 18-6 Samoa
Joseph Suaalii is stopped just short of the line. All Samoa.
England 18-6 Samoa
Half a chance for England but a forward pass brings an end to it.
Both teams could do with half-time now. It's been a half full of intensity.

England just needed a 'settler' set and to get a kick into the corner.
But Jack Welsby's looking for that pass again. It's worked for him previously but this time he just picks the wrong man.
England 18-6 Samoa
England's turn to look shaky but Samoa can't capitalise on good field position.

England were in total control but have chanced their arm on one too many occasions there.
Should have kept possession there but instead a loose pass was picked off by Izack Tago and it gives Samoa a way back into the contest.
Izack Tago, goal Crichon
An absolute gift!
England get the ball back but Izack Tago picks Kallum Watkins' pocket to intercept Jack Welsby's pass.
And once he's gone, you're never going to catch him. Samoa are on the board with an intercept-try.
Crichton's kick is good.
England 18-0 Samoa
Samoa only need one chance remember. Full-back Joseph Suaalii is as slippery as an eel, making up around 30 yards out of nowhere. England just can't bring him down.
England 18-0 Samoa
England can do no wrong now. Samoa look shaken.

Take a bow Dom Young. That's a great finish from another outstanding Jack Welsby pass.
Jack Welsby, Dom Young and Herbie Farnworth are superstars in the making.

I said last week during the Fiji game that Dominic Young could be the star of the tournament.
I stand by that assessment.
England in dreamland.
Dominic Young
This is really happening!
Another great pass from Jack Welsby sets up Dominic Young who gets over the line on the last tackle, leaping like a salmon over a defender and into the corner.
Tommy Makinson's kick from a tight angle goes wide.
England 14-0 Samoa
Herbie Farnworth pushes England to within five metres...
England 14-0 Samoa
Oh Samoa are so untidy, trying to force passes that aren't on.
A fumble gives England the ball in good position.
