Jake Connor has been in the wars today, now he has accidentally clashed heads with a Saints player and there is claret oozing from his nose.

The physio shoves some tissue roll up and gets him back on.

Saints are two metres away with four tackles in hand.

Saints have back-to-back sets as Kyle Amor looks to have dropped it but the linesman rules it's a ball strip from Josh Reynolds.

That call is spot on.

Jake Connor showing no ill-effects of the thigh problem from a few minutes ago, leaping high into the Leigh sky to cleanly snatch a Saints bomb.

A good point made by reporter Damian Johnson, saying Josh Griffin may now be a doubt for the World Cup later this year after that injury.

Looks like it's just a dead leg for Jake Connor and he should be able to continue.

Meanwhile, Sione Mata'utia fumbles the ball as he closes in on the try-line.

Right at the start of the second half, and this looks like another significant injury problem for Hull and Alex Walmsley goes barging in on Jake Connor and the full-back is caught on the thigh with an elbow.

It's a straw-weight v heavyweight fight that, Sneyd puts his forehead into the chest of Walmsley...because that's how high he can reach the Saints prop.

Walmsley holds him off with his little finger.

Big kick from Saints and it's almost a 40/20 but Jake Connor does well to keep the ball in play...just.

But the hard work is not done as three Saints players come chasing in and hunting Connor down.

Hull try to force it too early and Marc Sneyd's pass is forward.

Poor that, they have plenty of tackles to play with, be patient.
