    Warrington 18-0 Leeds

Ash Handley knocks the ball dead after some good Warrington build-up play culminates in Matt Dufty kicking in towards goal.

The Wire have had 74% of the possession so far and it shows. Leeds need a response, ideally before half-time.

There's a break in play as Kruise Leeming goes in with a high arm on Josh Thewlis.

The crowd want Leeming sent to the bin, but referee Liam Moore gives the Leeds man a warning and play continues.

Matty Nicholson comes off for Warrington in the mean time. He looks in a fair bit of discomfort with what looks to be an injury to his shoulder.

It's not all going Warrington's way.

Leeds win a penalty, their first of the game, and some ironic cheers go up from the travelling supporters.

I can't imagine it's been a great old time for them this evening.

That was fantastic play and it reminded me of Warrington of old where it's off-the-cuff rugby.

Their confidence is sky high and it all comes from winning the ruck, they're all winning the collisions which is allowing Josh Drinkwater and George Williams to play on the front foot.

It's peculiar watching Leeds tonight, I must say. They look fatigued and short of answers and are being easily worn down by Warrington.

It sort of feels a bit like the tail end of the season and Leeds have arrived off the back of a losing run. But it's the opening night.

    Fabulous stuff.

Daryl Clark, fresh from getting on the scoresheet himself, sends a long pass over to Peter Mata'utia who then swiftly offloads to Josh Thewlis who dives over the at the corner.

That was a quickfire try from Warrington and Leeds just don't have any answers to deal with them right now.

Stefan Ratchford kicks wide, missing his first attempt with the boot of the evening.

Warrington have been so busy, so direct and so destructive to the Leeds right edge. Their defence is just not up to standard, it's really disappointing from a Leeds perspective.

Warrington have completely dominated so far and for Leeds this half will feel like it's going on forever because they are just going backwards and they're defending assault after assault from Warrington.

Warrington are storming into quite a lead, here.

That Richie Myler knock-on has cost Leeds. No sooner to Warrington get going do they work the ball to the left and Daryl Clark crosses over with ease.

Stefan Ratchford makes the kick and Leeds have got their work cut out, here.

    Warrington 8-0 Leeds

Josh Drinkwater offloads to Thomas Mikaele who takes about four Leeds players to bring down.

Soon after, Warrington kick on the turnover, and Richie Myler fumbles it and knocks on deep inside his own half.

It's not going well for Leeds at the minute.

    Warrington 8-0 Leeds

Warrington win another penalty, this time after a ball steal from Aidan Sezer, much to the annoyance of the travelling Leeds supporters behind.

The hosts win a set of six within 20 metres, but some valiant Leeds defence sees them win back possession before the Wire can take advantage.

Leeds are just clinging on at the moment in the face of some good play from Warrington.

    Warrington 8-0 Leeds

Considering how poor Warrington were last season and how Leeds were the opposite, it's quite a surprise to see those roles reversed so far this evening.

The Wire look well drilled and up for this. Leeds haven't really begun and have been under pressure since kick-off.

    Warrington 8-0 Leeds

Richie Myler takes the ball dead under some more Warrington pressure.

He has too much speed and crashes into the advertising hoardings behind the posts and clatters head first over the other side.

    He's cleared to continue.

    George Williams is on fire.

He's held up about an inch from the line but Leeds defend well. Daryl Clark picks it up and goes to offload but he's batted down soon after and the Wire win a penalty right in front of the sticks.

Stefan Ratchford makes no mistake and Warrington race ahead with an eight-point cushion inside 10 minutes.

That was all down to George Williams. It was a great line from Ben Currie and a great pass from George Williams.

Both defences have been caught on the hop early on because of the quality of the attacks. It's been an entertaining five minutes.

Warrington score the first try of the season!

George Williams is in the thick of it again. The England international, fresh from a decent showing at the World Cup, slips a beautiful no-look pass to Ben Currie, who runs through a gap and offloads to Matt Dufty who touches down with ease.

Stefan Ratchford, on his 300th appearance for Warrington, adds the two.

It was a great set by Warrington to go all the way to the 20m line, it was a great kick by George Williams and you would have expected Peter Mata'utia to finish that off.

Great bit of kicking from Warrington as they come close to a dream start against Leeds.

George Williams is the man to put the kick in towards goal but Peter Mata'utia can't get on the end of it to touch down.
