Warrington made the champions work hard for their win, but St Helens were just too good in a game littered by costly errors.

It brings an end to a disappointing campaign for the Wire, whose strong start to the season saw them top the table before going on to limp into the play-offs.

    St Helens 16-8 Warrington

Joe Philbin draws a penalty in the middle of the park as he is not released in a tackle.

Warrington kick long to touch and this feels like one of Wolves' last chances to salvage this game.

Warrington have certainly had their chances, their latest one gain ends with a drop ball as the line was broken at speed.

  8. Post update

    Mark Percival

That feels like a kick to send St Helens into the Super League semi-finals.

  14. Post update

    St Helens 14-8 Warrington

It's energy sapping work for Warrington right now.

  15. Post update

    St Helens 14-8 Warrington

It's a huge missed chance for St Helens now!

Space opens up on the right for Saints to attack, but the final ball looking for Jon Bennison is too high for the winger, and it slips through his hands as he tries to gather it.

That could have gone some way to killing off this play-off game.

  16. SIN-BIN

    St Helens 14-8 Warrington

And Ben Thaler reaches into his pocket to pull out the yellow card.

He points to the dugout and sends Joe Bullock to the sin-bin.

  17. Post update

    St Helens 14-8 Warrington

It's a huge hit on Matty Lees!

St Helens are back in front!

Percival is on the money with his kick from wide on the right.
