    Try at last for Tonga!

Will Hopoate draws the defenders and sends an excellent pass wide to Tolutau Koula and he just about keeps his feet in the field of play to get Tonga on the board!

They had to score to keep this game as a contest - and the series for that matter.

The conversion is missed but that will give Kristian Woolf's men a big shot of confidence.

    England 14-0 Tonga

A great break up the pitch from Tonga's Tyson Frizell and this really is crucial for the Pacific islanders.

Can they find a way through?

Toby King looks to be moving a little gingerly around the pitch and appeared to be having his ankle strapped up in the in-goal area just after the break.

England are already without fellow centre Herbie Farnworth for this series.

Morgan Knowles and Dom Young have been ruled out for the remainder of the series, while Tommy Makinson is of course also missing here.

The last thing head coach Shaun Wane needs is another injury problem.

    Oh Matty Ashton!

The Warrington man is put into space on the wing but drops the ball!

He still had work to do to be honest but maybe he just glimpsed the hat-trick headlines and took his eye off the ball!

Chance gone, for now at least.

They're five metres out and a score here really would seal it.

    England 14-0 Tonga

Searing break by Isaiya Katoa right through the middle of the England defence!

He's pulled down just a couple of metres short on the fifth tackle so possession is lost but much better from Tonga.

Crucially though, they still have a big zero in the points column.

Tonga have made all the running this half but it's England who get on the board first to stretch their ever more imposing lead.

A penalty gives Harry Smith the chance to knock the ball between the sticks.

England have been clinical while Tonga toil away without reward.

Tom Johnstone what have you done?!

An unkind bounce as Tonga cover gives England possession and it's moved through hands before a kick in behind... but Johnstone knocks on as he tries to gather with the line at his mercy!

An unlikely error from Johnstone, who is a prolific scorer for Catalans Dragons and had five international tries in two games going into this one.

Moses Suli is to the fore as Tonga come again.

He barrels his way through tacklers like a bowling ball taking down pins at the local alley.

But as Tonga kick again, Jack Welsby is safe as houses under the high ball.

    England 12-0 Tonga

Suspended England captain George Williams, speaking on the touchline to BBC One:

"We're happy with 12-0 but we feel we can still go up a few more levels defensively and with the ball we made too many errors. But we'll try to play the conditions right, get behind Harry's kicking game and finish strong."

Tonga look sharper already and they are battering their way towards the England line.

The kick comes on the fifth tackle and Tyson Frizell gives chase but Jack Welsby stays cool and shepherds it out of play.

    Composed play from England's skpper.

We saw aggression from both sides has forced some errors. England have reacted much better when they did make those errors to make sure they defended the next sets, and I don't Tonga reacted quite in the same way, so I do think they're playing the conditions better.

    We're back under way.

England look odds on to take a 2-0 series lead in this three-match Test series.

But Tonga have 40 minutes to ensure they stay in the series.

We're in for an entertaining half here in Huddersfield!

Tonga's Tui Lolohea, speaking to BBC One: "We're making too many errors.

"If we can clean it up a bit we can get more joy.

"We’re giving too many set restarts away and that’s putting us on the back foot so we need to clean it up."

England's Harry Smith, speaking to BBC One: "I think we’ve done well most of the game.

"We’ve made some errors which has given them field position but we’re keeping them down their end well.

"You can’t control the weather so we’ve had to change the game plan a bit and I think we’ve done that better than them."

    Jon Wilkin
Former England international on BBC One

England have been dominant in most facets, they seem to have more composure, defensively have been resolute, and they've taken their chances when they've presented themselves.

I think Tonga felt frustrated at times, they never settled. I expected them to put in a much tidier performance and it's been the opposite.

Thoroughly deserved, they've been the better team and executed particularly when they've needed it.

Kristian Woolf has the tougher of the two tasks as a coach, Tonga have got to improve, but that's on the back of some vicious and ferocious defence from England.

England are well on top at the halfway stage.

Matty Ashton has scored both of his side's tries, which have been added to by the boot of Harry Smith.

Tonga coach Kristian Woolf has a big team talk coming up as his side have an awful lot of work to do to turn this around.

England look comfortable and have kept them at arm's length throughout.
