  2. 'Scotland will look to play their own game'published at 11:45 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2017

I don’t think Vern Cotter will look too far beyond the guys who played in the autumn internationals.

The guys are playing reasonably well at the moment. The Glasgow players in particular have had a good last three or four weeks. So I can’t see him changing too much. He won’t be bringing in too many new players.

I think even if WP Nel was fit, Zander Fagerson would be pushing him hard so I think he will definitely start. In the back-row I think John Barclay at six, Hamish Watson at seven and probably Ryan Wilson at eight.

I think Cotter will pick a team on how he wants to play rather than trying to match up to the Irish in terms of physicality.

  4. 'Forget 1999 comparisons, we need to win games'published at 11:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2017

One man who could well feature in Vern Cotter's starting line-up to face Ireland is John Barclay.

If the Scarlets back-row is selected it will be cap number 56 and a 50th start for the national team - not bad for a man who was seemingly discarded by Scotland a few seasons ago.

He's been telling Tom English about his journey back from the international wilderness and his hopes of a bright future for the Scotland team.

  5. Scotland gear up for Irish testpublished at 11:31 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February 2017

Good morning and welcome to our live coverage of Scotland's team announcement ahead of the Six Nations opener against Ireland on Saturday at Murrayfield.

The Scots are almost at full strength, with tighthead prop WP Nel the only noticeable absentee. The Edinburgh forward is sidelined after undergoing surgery on a neck injury.

So who would you like to see in the starting 15? Let us know.
