  1. Penalty - Dragons 3-3 Ospreys

    Josh Lewis

Dragons make their first foray into Ospreys territory, firstly through Jarred Rosser and then Jamie Roberts.

Leon Brown carries at speed as he tries to score against the Ospreys as he did at the Liberty Stadium earlier this season.

Dragons continue through the forwards and earn the penalty, which Josh Lewis slots over.

  2. Penalty - Dragons 0-3 Ospreys

    Stephen Myler

And the Ospreys fly-half makes no mistake as he puts the visitors deservedly ahead.

  3. Post update

    Dragons 0-0 Ospreys

Dragons successfully claim their first line-out of the evening before sending a kick high and long to Luke Morgan.

Morgan beats three defenders before offloading to Rhys Webb who is looking for the corner, but the Dragons scramble back to defend.

The pressure leads to a penalty right in front of the posts which Stephen Myler is sizing up.

  4. Post update

    Dragons 0-0 Ospreys

After initially losing possession Ospreys regain control on the half-way line before Sam Cross breaks clear into the Dragons' 22.

The threat is quickly ended though as Ospreys lose the ball forward in a ruck. Scrum to the Dragons.

  5. Post update

    Dragons 0-0 Ospreys

Josh Lewis' early kick has way too much on it and it goes all the way through the Ospreys' in-goal area to set up an attacking scrum for the visitors.

  6. Kick-off

    Dragons 0-0 Ospreys

Referee Dan Jones blows his whistle and we are underway at Rodney Parade.

  7. Wainwright happy to play number eight

    Dragons v Ospreys (17:15 GMT)

Dragons star Aaron Wainwright says he is happy to be viewed as a number eight, where he starts this evening against Ospreys, by Wales coach Wayne Pivac.

Wainwright has played most of his career as a blind-side flanker, but Pivac believes his attributes are better suited to the middle of the back-row.

  8. Dragons' New Year's Day disappointment

    Dragons v Ospreys (17:15 GMT)

Despite Josh Lewis kicking the Dragons ahead early on against Scarlets last time out, Dean Ryan's side failed to add any more points in a disappointing defeat.

Both sides were guilty of making basic mistakes in a scrappy match, but Scarlets took advantage on the day.

Sione Kalamafoni's try put the Scarlets ahead and although the Dragons responded well, they had no joy and Scarlets had the last word as when Sam Costelow sealed the win with a late try.

Dragons centre Jamie Roberts hopes the idea of playing the 2021 British and Irish Lions series against South Africa at home will be a last resort.

The series could be held in the United Kingdom and Ireland in July and August if fans cannot travel.

That is one contingency plan discussed by the Lions board in the event the trip to South Africa is abandoned.

"I hope they exhaust every possible opportunity for it to be hosted in South Africa," said Roberts.

  11. Wales captain Jones targeting Six Nations opener

    Dragons v Ospreys (17:15 GMT)

Alun Wyn Jones is "very confident" he can be involved in Wales' Six Nations opener against Ireland on 7 February, according to Ospreys coach Toby Booth.

Booth says Wales captain Jones, 35, is "making great progress and bounding around" after a knee injury.

Jones has not played since the Autumn Nations Cup match against Italy on 5 December.

"If you ask Alun, he'll be playing in the first [Six Nations] game," Booth said.

  12. Basham out for up to 10 weeks

    Dragons v Ospreys (17:15 GMT)

Dragons back-rower Taine Basham faces between eight and 10 weeks out injured with a fractured forearm.

Basham was forced off during the Pro14 loss at Scarlets on New Year's Day.

The 21-year-old's injury is a blow for Dragons, who are already without Wales internationals Ross Moriarty and Ollie Griffiths in the back row.

"I've had three [fractured forearms] myself so I would say it will be a good eight to 10 weeks," said Dragons director of rugby Dean Ryan.

  13. Giles set to return after 15 months out

    Dragons v Ospreys (17:15 GMT)

Ospreys wing Keelan Giles is set for his first game in nearly 15 months after being named as a replacement.

Giles, a Wales tour squad member in 2017, has been dogged by knee issues since an injury in October 2019.

Wales flankers Justin Tipuric and Dan Lydiate have been rested.

Wales centre Owen Watkin returns from injury for Ospreys, while Mat Protheroe replaces Dan Evans at full-back. Fly-half Stephen Myler captains the region in Tipuric's absence.

Ospreys: Mat Protheroe; George North, Owen Watkin, Keiran Williams, Luke Morgan; Stephen Myler (capt), Rhys Webb; Nicky Smith, Ifan Phillips, Ma'afu Fia, Adam Beard, Rhys Davies, Will Griffiths, Sam Cross, Morgan Morris.

Replacements: Scott Otten, Gareth Thomas, Tom Botha, Lloyd Ashley, Gareth Evans, Reuben Morgan-Williams, Joe Hawkins, Keelan Giles.

  14. Roberts returns from self-isolation for Dragons

    Dragons v Ospreys (17:15 GMT)

As mentioned, first up today Dragons welcome Ospreys to Rodney Parade, and Dean Ryan has made five changes to the team that lost to Scarlets last time out.

Taine Basham is out with a fractured forearm, more on that shortly, but Jamie Roberts returns after his Covid-19 self-isolation period.

Elsewhere Jonah Holmes is out with concussion, but Jared Rosser, Joe Davies, Richard Hibbard and Huw Taylor all start.

Dragons: Owen Jenkins; Jared Rosser, Nick Tompkins, Jamie Roberts, Ashton Hewitt; Josh Lewis, Tavis Knoyle; Brok Harris, Richard Hibbard, Leon Brown, Joe Davies, Matthew Screech, Huw Taylor, Harrison Keddie (capt), Aaron Wainwright.

Replacements: Elliot Dee, Aaron Jarvis, Lloyd Fairbrother, Ben Carter, Lewis Evans, Rhodri Williams, Arwel Robson, Jack Dixon.

  15. Hello and welcome!

Dragons v Ospreys (17:15 GMT) and Cardiff Blues v Scarlets (19:35 GMT)

Thank you for joining us on this frosty south Wales evening for the third and final festive weekend of Pro14 derbies.

First up Dragons, still seekingg for their first derby success of the season, host the Ospreys in a battle for third place in Conference A.

And after the excitement at Rodney Parade we turn our attentions to Cardiff City Stadium, as defence coach Richard Hodges takes charge of Cardiff Blues following John Mulvihill's departure.

Scarlets will be hoping to complete the Welsh derby hat-trick after victories against Ospreys and Dragons on Boxing Day and New Year's Day respectively.

The visitors to Cardiff City Stadium start the day one point behind second-place Connacht, who host Conference B leaders Munster this evening, and six points ahead of their opponents the Blues.
