    FT: Benetton 9-19 Glasgow

Well Glasgow fans will be overjoyed at their team sitting top of the URC even if it could be temporarily.

It wasn't a pretty win in Treviso and it certainly wasn't a Glasgow side we are used to seeing but a win is a win and at this point of the competition every point counts.

Next up for Glasgow is Cardiff at home on 22 March. We hope to see you then!

Franco said it exactly, they need to be able to play without the ball as much with the ball and they proved they can do that today by giving the ball back to Benetton and making them try and play out. It's getting towards the end of the season so they will be looking at different ways to win.

They've got Cardiff next at home. Cardiff will be sitting there thinking 'hold on a minute, Glasgow played a different style of rugby that week.' It puts questions into oppositions minds on what they can expect from Glasgow.

Glasgow Warriors head coach Franco Smith spoke to Viaplay at full time:

"I think the conditions made it difficult. You could see that in how the pitch cut up and the water didn't make it easy to play. Despite that, for us to stick to what we do well and do well without the ball as much as we did with the ball, I'm very happy with that.

"I think we know it's better to play without the ball and give them the ball because errors will come. I'm happy with the all round performance. It's always tough to win away from home. They [Benetton] are a proud team, they haven't lost here all season. We're happy with that and now we go on and look towards the next game."

Player of the match Stafford McDowall spoke to Viaplay on the whistle:

"We know how tough it is to come here and get the result. We've not won here in two or three years especially in conditions like this we knew it would be tough and Benetton were going to fight for everything. We're very proud.

"We knew that in the wet, if we could put some pressure on them and make them turn back, it would be a good result for us."

Franco Smith will be relatively happy with the way they won that. It wasn't the typical Glasgow we have seen. They kicked more but they kicked wisely which is key. Franco will probably be sat in the changing room happy with the result but not satisfied to not get the bonus point.

This is what I love about Glasgow, they find a way to win and it's this all out attacking rugby but they have something else in the armoury and they showed today they can win in different ways.

That will be that! Loose passing off the back of the line-out sees the ball bounce into touch and Eoghan Cross calls time.

Not the prettiest of games and nothing to write home about but Glasgow have the win and have handed Benetton their first loss at home in a year.

For a few hours at least Glasgow sit top of the URC.

What happened there?! From the other end of the pitch Glasgow's attack takes advantage of the disorganised Benetton defence and have the chance for some lovely free flowing rugby. Through the hands with a lovely chip over the top from Jamie Dobie is gathered by Stafford McDowall but it is Tom Jordan who goes under the posts.

Duncan Weir adds the extras from the tee.

Glasgow are looking a bit rattled after that card. Can Benetton take advantage of the extra man with a line-out on the visitors' five meter line?

Lucio Sordoni runs the risk, and I think is pretty fortunate to be honest.

Another penalty, this time for a high tackle, adds further momentum to the Benetton attack. Jacob Umaga calls for the tee.
