Three changes for Glasgow

Thomas Young tries to steal the ball when he's lying flat on his back, and he's quickly pinged for it. Chance for points here... but they go for the corner.

Glasgow are going to make a trio of chances. Ally Miller and Henco Venter will come into the back row, while George Horne is on at scrum-half.

Alex Samuel, Matt Fagerson and Sebastian Cancelliere are off - Jamie Dobie will play on the wing.

Disaster strikes! Jack Dempsey lets the kick off bounce twice before slapping it back towards his own line. Jamie Dobie can't gather either and it looks for all the world like Ben Thomas has touched down.

Held up, says Frank Murphy. Hmmmmm. Glasgow get away with one.

Mason Grady is wrapped up by Alex Samuel and Max Williamson, and the latter wins a penalty. I wouldn't want to run into that pair - 6ft9inch and 6ft7inch respectively.

Glasgow take the scrum penalty. Surprising, given it hasn't gone to plan so far.

This time it works! Jamie Dobie breaks blind and pops to Kyle Steyn. He gets into the 22 before being brought down. Dobie spots Williamson, and he hits a great line, stepping Thomas Young and skidding over.

A first pro try for the 21-year-old! And Duncan Weir adds the extras. The perfect start to the second half.

Cardiff have scored an average of eight points per second-half. That'll give you some hope, Glasgow fans?

Well, that hasn't gone to plan, has it?

The Warriors have lost three games at Scotstoun in the last three years, but they have so much work to do in the second half.

Cardiff have been brilliant, managing the conditions and managing the game so far.

Glasgow haven't fired a shot. At least they have the wind behind them in the second half.

Glasgow break through Tom Jordan and then Kyle Steyn. They work the ball back right and win a penalty, and Duncan Weir does well to ping it into the corner, despite the wind whipping his face.

Johnny Matthews has some job finding a Glasgow player from the throw, but he does it. The ball goes to deck from the maul, and Cardiff win a penalty!

There can often be a "day after the lord mayor's show" feel about these post-Six Nations fixtures, but it's an almost funereal atmosphere around Scotstoun right now.

Cardiff are playing the conditions - which are fast deteriorating - much better than the home side, albeit with the wind advantage in this first half. That Ben Thomas try had no wind assistance though, that was pure class.

Warriors really need a spark from somewhere.

Glasgow try to rumble through the phases, unable to go the skies. They get to the edge of the Cardiff 22m, but Ben Donnell wins the penalty at the breakdown.

A great defensive set from the visitors. This has been a hugely gutsy performance from them so far.

Thomas Young managed break the Glasgow line and the visitors string the offloads together to find Thomas who goes over from close range.

De Beer, who played the penultimate pass, slots the kick.

Max Williamson is the hero for Glasgow, as Cardiff shunt and shove towards the line and eventually cross it - but the Warriors lock is underneath the ball.

Rhys Carre is carre-ing (my apologies) so well. He's some loss for Wales.

Duncan Weir throws an intercept and it's fly-hacked back towards the Glasgow line.

Mason Grady chases it and my goodness, this boy has wheels. He burns past Sebastian Cancelliere, but can only kick the ball into touch.

Glasgow win the ball back and Rhys Carre burrows for the line but he's dragged into touch.

Penalty

Lucio Sordoni is pinged again at scrum time. It's been a tough night for the tighthead so far, and Frank Murphy isn't giving the Argentinian any leeway.

Tinus de Beer (real name, I've checked) slots the penalty again.

Glasgow are normally so good at those short passes - just like Ireland in the Six Nations. Those short passes are so dangerous, and they need to shore it up and try to get it into the hands of Kyle Steyn so he has a free run at it.

The rain is now lashing down and it's causing havoc with the Glasgow handling. Johnny Matthews spills from Matt Fagerson, and Cardiff are let off.

It's pretty scrappy, and Glasgow are yet to hit their straps.

Cardiff meanwhile, are able to get in behind quite easily but strong Glasgow defence shunts Mackenzie Martin into touch.

It's worth mentioning - half of the back of the Cardiff shirts are black, just like the Glasgow home shirts. I'm finding it hard to tell the difference.

Back to the rugby - Stafford McDowall is smashed back in midfield. Don't see that often.

Glasgow are really suffering with this wind. Jamie Dobie's box-kicks are almost forcing the Warriors backwards as they get caught in the backdraft.

They'll need to change something, they can't get behind Cardiff at all.

Unbelievable defence from Cardiff.

After conceding another penalty, Glasgow went for touch and from that throw, Shane Lewis-Hughes somehow ripped the ball from Glasgow hands. The visitors then win a penalty and the Welsh side can boot clear.

Glasgow take a quick kick-off and Mackenzie Martin coughs up the ball. Glasgow win a penalty from the scrum, and go straight for the corner.

Great response from the hosts, and a statement of intent. Johnny Matthews licks his lips, and launches the throw. There's an advantage coming...

And now the penalty comes. It'll be another throw.

Lucio Sordoni is caught on the wrong side as Cardiff work through the phases, and referee Frank Murphy peeps his whistle.

Tinus de Beer slots it between the sticks from 40 yards out and Cardiff are ahead.
