  15. Cooney says Murphy can get best out of him and Ulsterpublished at 12:20 British Summer Time 13 April

Clermont Auvergne v Ulster (12:30 BST)

John Cooney believes "reconnecting" with Ulster's interim head coach Richie Murphy can help him regain his best form after what he says has been a "difficult" season.

Scrum-half Cooney, 33, worked with Murphy as a 17-year-old when he was in the Leinster Academy.

"I probably know Richie the best out of everybody in this [Ulster] environment," said Cooney on Wednesday.

"I know how good he actually is at coaching players.

"His attention to detail and his skill ability is as good as you find in the country," added Cooney.

"For a player like me, a bit later in your career, it's nice to reconnect with him. He knows how I should play and he knows how to get the best out of me."

  16. Big future expected for Wilsonpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 13 April

Clermont Auvergne v Ulster (12:30 BST)

Scott Wilson, the Ulster Academy product who started the year well down the depth chart, will make his 10th appearance of the campaign from the bench against ASM Clermont in the European Challenge Cup quarter-finals on Saturday having already made a big impression at Kingspan Stadium.

Ulster captain Iain Henderson predicts a big future for the 21-year old, who scored his first try in the last-16 win away to Montpellier

“At the start of the year, I think people were saying ‘oh my goodness, we’re going to have to play Scotty this weekend’ and that week in training I was so excited about him playing,” said Henderson.

“We saw the impact he could have in games and to be scrummaging at the level he’s scrummaging at, and at his age, is phenomenal.

“For me, he is one of the most exciting prospects we’ve had in a long time and he has some incredible natural talents.

"He has his ability to try and pick up things on the go but he’s also very laid back and quite chilled as a character, which is I think could be the making of him going pretty far.”

Clermont Auvergne v Ulster (12:30 BST)

Good afternoon and welcome to our live audio and text coverage of Ulster's Challenge quarter-final against old foes Clermont Auvergne at Stade Marcel Michelin.

It's a second week in a row on the road in France for Richie Murphy's charges following last week's victory in Montpellier as the Irish province aim to secure a semi-final spot and make further progress towards a first trophy success since 2006.

That follows two away fixtures in South Africa in the United Rugby Championship so there has been little by way of home comforts for Ulster of late.

Can they advance to the last four? Stay with us and find out.
