One player who will be desperate to come on during this second-half is Italian scrum-half Stephen Varney, who Gloucester hope will have proved a second weapon for them today.
The number nine, who has 29 caps for the Azurri, has been sharing some insight of his national team-mates during training this week.
"Training with them for a lot of time in the year, I know how they play, I know individually their skillsets as well so I think that will be a good asset on the weekend," Varney told BBC Points West.
"They’re a physical pack, they’re very well-drilled and their attack is very good as well. They’ve got good backs, good threats individually and they play similar to Italy."
Sharks 32-31 ASM Clermont Auverge
We've already had one Challenge Cup semi-final this afternoon and it was the closest of close affairs at the Twickenham Stoop, as South African side Sharks take their place in the final with a one-point win over French side Clermont.
Clermont were 10 points ahead at half-time with the score 10-28, before two second-half tries from Sharks saw them edge ahead to take the narrowest of wins.
Sharks will face today's winner in the final at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Friday, 24 May.

In that half, Gloucester were on it right from the start. It was a complete contrast to last Sunday.
You could say it was almost the perfect first half then we went to the scrum 15 metres out with a minute to go and they got steamrollered.
They've conceded two penalties and a try from three scrum positions. That will be a real worry for Gloucester at half-time.

Benetton pounce with Gloucester number eight Zach Mercer in the sin bin and pull a try back right before the break to make it a four-point game at Kingsholm.
Tries from Josh Hathaway and Seb Blake had put Gloucester in the driving seat to two penalties from Benetton's Tomas Albornoz, until Smith ran in right at the end.
This really could go either way the next 40 minutes.

I was just thinking what a great first half performance from Gloucester but then they get mullered.
How things can change in a split second. That is a hammer blow right on half-time. Benetton showed their class, there.
Rhyno Smith (41 mins)
Wow, now that's what Benetton can do as Rhyno Smith runs over with the clock in red to pull another try back before the break.
It comes from a monster scrum deep inside their own half by the Italian's forward pack and they race in numbers down the field, unleashing Smith to cross in the corner.

It's the first time we've seen Gloucester stressed in defence.
It's a proper semi-final, both teams are showing quality and chipping away at the scoreboard.
Gloucester 15-6 Benetton
Hang on a second... looks like we spoke too soon!
Benetton see their try scratched off the board as the TMO flags an incident in the build-up where Gloucester fly-half Adam Hastings is illegally taken off the ball in the build up.
The score goes back as we were.
Onisi Ratave (37 mins)
The answer to the question below is yes, yes Benetton absolutely can capitalise.
Winger Onisi Ratave gets his seventh try of the competition, with an easy run-in over in the corner.
Gloucester 15-8 Benetton
Big moment here as Gloucester number eight - one of their best performers in this competition this season - is sent to the bin for 10 minutes for a deliberate trip.
Can Benetton capitalise now before half-time?
Gloucester 15-6 Benetton
Fijian Onisi Ratave shows his speed, collecting the ball from deep in his own half and running forward and unleashing fellow winger Ignacio Mendy down the right.
Ollie Thorley makes an important tackle to stop the Benetton back, but that's a flash of danger of what they can do.
Gloucester 15-6 Benetton
Momentum is almost all going Gloucester's way at the moment as almost straight from the restart, as they win another penalty.
Adam Hastings steps up to the posts but his kick goes wide.

Tremendous for Gloucester. It was a bit of a punt because the three points were on offer but they fancied it.
It was patience, they just kept their composure, tried to feel where the weight gap was and then went over at pace.
Seb Blake (28 mins)
The Gloucester maul makes Benetton pay as the forward pack collect the ball from the line-out five-metres out and drive forward, charging through the Benetton defence and straight over.
Prop Seb Blake gets the try and Adam Hastings adds the conversion.
Gloucester 8-6 Benetton
The Gloucester maul drives forward from the line-out and the hosts win a penalty advantage as they go through the phases with their forwards and look for an opening in the Benetton defensive line.
The ball eventually goes forward and we come back for that initial infringement as Gloucester kick to the corner.

That's what Adam Hastings can do, when he's on song he's majestic.
Gloucester 8-6 Benetton
It's poor from Benetton as they sloppily lose the ball in midfield from a line-out and Gloucester fly-half Adam Hastings kicks a spot-on 50-22 to win the hosts an excellent attacking opportunity.
Tomas Albornoz (23 mins)
Nothing in this game so far really as Benetton instantly win a second penalty of their own at the other end after Gloucester are penalised at the scrum and reduce the gap to two points.
Tomas Albornoz kicks another three points over on his 50th game for the club.

He's struck it brilliantly and it had more to go on it as well, straight down the middle.
That will settle Adam Hastings down.
