Querrey is missing with that off forehand into the corner now, finding the net for 30-30, and a brilliant defensive lob from Murray has the American scrambling. Set point... and Querrey digs deep to muscle a huge forehand winner. Despite the double break, Murray will not give the game up, and a backhand winner down the line has John Lloyd purring on BBC Three. He's laughing moments later when Murray plays a winning drop volley off a service return, and it's set point number two... but Murray catches the tape. A double-fault and it's set point number three... big serve from Querrey. A Murray backhand winner, set point number three... and Querrey finally nets.
Murray holds to 15 with an ace, and the locals might get back in time for the Denver Horses against the Seattle Seagulls if this pace keeps up.
Jon in Harrogate: If GB get through this match looks like there's more clay ahead against Italy in the next round - Rome in spring anyone?
Querrey gets on the board in the third set, despite Murray trying desperately to return one smash that would have required a step ladder and about 10 minutes' warning. He doesn't give up on anything, which looks like it's starting to take its toll on Querrey.
Murray plays a beauty of a cross-court backhand, has a bit of a grumble to the umpire, screams after a miss and then takes the game with a mishit backhand drive volley and a big serve. All in all, good news for the watching British fans.
A stunner. Murray sprints and then slides out wide to fetch a Querrey forehand and arrows a backhand winner down the line for 15-40, and Querrey duly gives up the break. The Briton take a few big gulps of air on the changeover.
Querrey has a chance at 15-15 but swats a short forehand into the bottom of the net, rather strangely. A good serve and a Querrey miss give Murray the game.

"Just what Jim Courier didn't want to see - a break of serve right at the start of the third set. He's getting Querrey to change his racquet - I wonder why he didn't ask him to do that a game ago?"
Querrey stumbles a little chasing a Murray drop volley in vain and the Briton has an early chance to regain the initiative at 30-40, but cannot convert. A net cord then helps him out a little as Querrey cannot adjust his feet and misses with a forehand, and a more assertive Murray grabs the break after dominating a baseline exchange.
Ross Hutchins
British doubles player on BBC Three
"Querrey is right up for this, and isn't he doing a good job for the United States?"
Murray goes long to drop serve but gets the break straight back with a backhand down the line that opens up the court for a forehand winner. Querrey edges ahead again with a good forehand... it's been the shot of the day for Querrey, stepping out wide and cracking another big forehand return winner off a second serve, and the American narrowly misses making a running winner for the double break... a big serve and Querrey goes to the changeover 4-2 up, as he did in the first tie-break... Murray gets a look at a backhand winner down the line but sends it long, and the American moves 6-2 up when he powers into the net once again...
Four set points... Murray saves the first with a drop volley, but Querrey levels up at one set all with a big serve and a big forehand before exhorting the crowd to get behind him. Great stuff from the San Franciscan.
Murray just misses the line in the opening point and then draws an error with a solid return for 15-15, but another loose shot follows and the Briton is absolutely fuming. Querrey goes for that forehand drop shot once again and this time it works. Murray then plays a howler of a high volley and heads into the tie-break under a bit of a cloud...
Murray holds to love again and gees himself up as he bounces back to the chair. Just one break point apiece in this set. "Disco Inferno" is the soundtrack for this changeover, "Burn, baby, burn." It would have been more appropriate at the Australian open last month.
"No!" shouts Murray when he misses with a lob at 0-15, and the Briton makes a couple more relatively loose errors to drop the game, as the sound of clattering kitchenware fills the stadium. Dangerous places, kitchens. Best avoided.
Murray holds to love, no drama. There's bit of stubble on the Courier chin today, and Querrey is getting a good close look at it as the US captain leans in to impart some information ahead of this vital next service game. Whatever you think of the suit, courier is a double French and Australian Open champion, so he knows his stuff.
This set is seeing the best of Querrey and he holds to 15 with big serving backed up by some heavy hitting.
Murray is under pressure at 15-15 and backed into the corner by the heavy hitting of Querrey, but the Wimbledon champion reaches wide to flick a stunning backhand slice across his opponent and into the only space he could have found. Querrey is on the march though, slamming a forehand winner down the line for break point... ace out wide from Murray. The best point of the match follows as Murray manages to lob Querrey from almost under the net tape, and then volleys away the winner. A great hold in a good game.
Querrey wraps up another service game with what must be his ideal point (aside from an ace) - a big serve, a huge forehand into the corner and an unreturnable smash.
