    Two successive double faults from Nishikori takes it to 30-30, but a loose backhand from Wawrinka, which goes long, followed by a stretch forehand into the net sees Nishikori hold his serve.

    Nishikori takes the opening two points against Wawrinka's serve in the fourth game of the second set to take a 0-30 lead. This is the first time the Swiss has been put under pressure and he responds by taking the next two points.

    After the second, he screams "come on" in an attempt to fire himself into action.

    He may be a bit too pumped up though as a double fault then gives Nishikori a break point. But Wawrinka recovers to hold his serve. 2-2 in the second set.

    Nishikori punches in a backhand volley to make it 30-30 in the ninth game. but a deep forehand shot from Wawrinka sees Nishikora then dump his next shot into the net.

    The Swiss has the first set point of the match, but wastes it with a double fault, slashing his second serve into the net. A second set point also goes long, but takes his third chance with a powerful ace down the middle.

    The opening set only took 33 minutes and the third seed leads by one set.

    A perfect way to end the fifth game for Wawrinka. A deep first serve sees Nishikori scrambling to get the ball back over the net, but Wawrinka has charged in and smashes a winner to take a 4-1 lead. These two players have played twice before with Wawrinka winning on both occasions. It could well become three out of three today.
