*Murray 7-5 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 4-6 3-1 Nishikori
Murray breaks! A let has us on the edge of our seats (a deep one from Nishikori was called out, but was in), the Japanese goes wide in the replayed point to give Murray the break. Three straight games for the Scot, who, all of a sudden, can see the finish line.

"It must be very wearing for Nishikori, every time he makes a mistake he pleases 9,000 people."
Now then. Nishikori long. Break point. Big. BIG.
Yet another double fault from Nishikori - a seventh - allows Murray back from 30-0. 30-30 and now it's Nishikori doing the running while Murray plays the tune. Brilliant from Murray, a one-two combo finished with a volley for 40-40. Nishikori gets a chance to win it, but yet another missed smash sends us onwards...

"Murray is going to be so tired at the end of this match he is going to want to take another four weeks off."

Rhys Hopkins: This is amazing tennis! Murray & Nishikori have been both superb & shattered at times. Absorbing match!
John Michael Poole: Two of the best going at it toe to toe. This is amazing
Loy: Come on Andy Murray! Keep on going- you can find your 6th gear! Time to dig in deep!
Watch as Nishikori fights back to force a decider
It's incredible, it really is. Murray has dug deep into his sporran and found something in this final set. Eight points out of nine. Back from a break down, Nishikori under the pump for the first time in living memory.

"Andy Murray is refusing to be steamrollered in this fifth set."
*Murray 7-5 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 4-6 1-1 Nishikori
Can you hear the roar? Birmingham erupts and Murray (just about) musters a fist-pump. Back on terms in the decider.
A ray of hope! Nishikori all over the place on his own serve, the sending down a baffling double at 0-30. Three break points for Murray. Surely...
It's taken three minutes short of five hours but Novak Djokovic has kept Serbia's hopes alive with a five-set win over Kazakhstan's Mikhail Kukushkin in Belgrade. The world number one trailed by two sets to one but took the fifth 6-2, and it's now up to Viktor Troicki and Aleksandr Nedovyesov to sort this one out.

"Nishikori looked, in that game, like the match was just starting and that is a bad sign for Murray."
Murray 7-5 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 4-6 0-1 Nishikori*
Someone tell Dan Evans to be ready. Nishikori gobbles up the chance to break, pummeling a drive-volley into open court. Serious, serious times for Andy Murray.
Heart-in-mouth time. Murray into the net. Break point...

CBellUK: Not questioning Murray's heart or commitment, but an early Davis Cup exit would do his 2016 Slam focus no harm.
Chrispy: We know Andy Murray can do it! #BackTheBrits #BirminghamBelieves
I tell you what, Nishikori has come out looking fresh in the fifth, pressuring the Murray serve. At 30-30, the Scot is fortunate to see a Japanese forehand drift wide. Nothing lucky here, though, with Nishikori finding an outrageous backhand on to the line. 40-40.
How are you feeling? Final set. Murray to serve.

"I have so much respect for Murray’s game, doing this kind of thing. I am still backing him."
