Murray 6-4 4-0 Wawrinka*
Now then - break point for Stan.
He pulls the strings at the net (not literally) and an angled volley gives him another opportunity to break the Murray serve.
But in the following point his forehand is judged to have been long. It looked to be on the line. Challenge Stan? No? OK.
The world number one eventually holds again. He's a pest that Murray.

Wawrinka has had so few opportunities - he just can't afford to miss a rallying ball.

Imagine having to play Andy Murray in this mood - every ball works his opponent and has a purpose. This is a superb performance.
*Murray 6-4 3-0 Wawrinka
Wawrinka just cannot lose Murray - he's like ..a shadow. Annoying one at that.
Stan tries to dictate play from the back but Muzza keeps returning - everything.
He loses heart during one rally by hitting a groundstroke with too much purchase, before Murray seals the break with a great winner.
Frustration leads to Wawrinka snapping his racquet - he gets a violation warning.

Murray 6-4 2-0 Wawrinka*
Is Murray having a mini Murray slump? He's due one.
It's 30s each as Murray groundstroke is called out. A double fault means Wawrinka has his first break point of the match.
Saved as Wawrinka's return lands west of the tramline. The Swiss repeats the trick and Murray holds.

I didn't expect this tactic, but Murray is taking pace off the ball to try and catch out Wawrinka. It's working well for him.
*Murray 6-4 1-0 Wawrinka
Stan! Stan! Stan!
Are you having Nishikori flashbacks (he was an absolute state against the Japanese player on Monday)?
Murray has three break points! Yeah, three!!
He does not take the first chance, firing a return into the net, but takes the next when Wawrinka's backhand from the back of the court seems to come off the frame and head towards the ISS (International Space Station).

That was an intense set of tennis.
Murray 6-4 Wawrinka*
One thing we've learnt from this match so far - Murray does not give up in rallies. He wins yet a 21-shot rally when Wawrinka makes a mistake from the back of the court.
A first ace for Murray tees up set point - timing Andy!
An equally brilliant serve right on the corner sends Wawrinka scampering out wide - his return lands out.
Set Murray. The Scot is through to the semis as a result of winning this set.

This is a big moment in the season for Andy Murray. He's trying to hold on to that number one ranking, and he wants to play a big part in this tournament over the weekend. He's been building up to it for the last four tournaments.
*Murray 5-4 Wawrinka
Another break point for Murray. The British and world number one again mixes up his strokes - this time he puts a touch of slice on his backhand from out wide to put himself within touching distance of the first set.
Murray's first opportunity passes as he loses a challenge after his return had initially been called out. It was wayyyy out Andy. He's not had the best of luck with challenges this week.
One more break point comes up, but this time Wawrinka saves by coming to the net.
And yet another - that's three - but again the Swiss saves by coming to the net and putting disguise on his volley to wrongfoot the Brit.
Wawrinka finally seals the game with a one-handed backhand down the line.

Alexandre Tynemouth: Playing to their theoretical 'best' Novak and Rafa would dominate. Roger and Murray could rarely cope, as shown by head to heads in Grand Slams.
Jonathan Hague: I saw Djokovic play at his best and lose; in the 2015 French Open final. So for me it has to be Stan.

Andy Murray is a big boxing fan. If this was a fight, he'd have taken some blows in the opening rounds but now he's landing a few big ones of his own.
Murray 5-3 Wawrinka*
Murray has won 92% of points on his first serve so far, with Wawrinka winning only 68%. That is high quality. Admittedly, you probably worked that out.
He wins his fourth service game to love - exhibition stuff from the Scot. He is world number one, if you didn't know.
Tim Henman
Former British number one on BBC Two
Murray has been making inroads - he'd won 12 points on Wawrinka's serve and when he got the opportunity to break he took it.
