The BBC has extended its contract to broadcast Wimbledon for an additional four years, taking its partnership with the All England Club through to 2024.

The agreement means the Grand Slam remains free to air across BBC television, online and radio.

"Wimbledon is the pinnacle of the sport," said BBC director general Tony Hall.

Andy has won 21 matches in a row - he is so robust, and has worked so hard he knows that even when he gets tired at the back end of a tournament he can deal with it and still win.

The way Stan beats Murray is the way he beats everyone, he blows them off the court. If his groundstrokes are going, especially that backhand, then that is what he wants to do. 

He can do that with Murray. If Murray drops the ball short early in the match then Wawrinka will be all over it.

It will be a fantastic match strategically as well as because of the implications.

Stan Wawrinka has been like Jekyll and Hyde this week. He had a stinker in a swift defeat by Kei Nishikori on Monday but looked more like a three-time Grand Slam champion when he beat Marin Cilic.

The Swiss, 31, lost to Murray in their only meeting this year at the French Open but won last year’s group-stage contest at the O2 Arena.

And he has no qualms about potentially knocking out the home favourite.

"I don't care at all,” said Wawrinka. "All I know is if I want to have a chance to qualify, I need to win. That's all I know. That's all I'm trying to do. "I'm going to try to play my best tennis, to beat the world number one."

Andy Murray AKA the world number one (doesn't that still sound great?!) has won both of his matches at the O2. But he is still not through to a first semi-final since 2012.

The Scot slogged his way past Kei Nishikori on Wednesday in a tournament-record three hours and 20 minutes, but needs to take a set off Stan Wawrinka tomorrow to advance.

And he hopes an evening on the sofa will help achieve that.

"I'll try to use today as a rest day to recover, hopefully I won't be too stiff and sore on Friday," he told BBC Sport.

"It's not ideal to play matches of that length at this stage."

Not only does Romeo Beckham get to watch some of the world's best tennis players from court-side, he also gets to meet them. Beckham junior - and dad, of course - have managed to blag their way into the players' corridor, Milos Raonic giving some words of encouragement to the tennis-mad kid. That's Romeo.

Solid stuff from Milos Raonic, just as well with John McEnroe watching. Wouldn't fancy the hairdryer treatment from Mac. 

So who will the Canadian fourth seed play in the semi-finals on Saturday? Good question. We don't know. But it will be one of Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka and Kei Nishikori.

Milos Raonic, speaking to Annabel Croft after his straight-sets win: "I got fortunate at the end of the first set to hit three aces. I stuck with my weapons and I was fortunate to get through."

Smiles all around as the two men shake hands at the net. Not Milos Raonic's best performance but he warmed up nicely as the match moved on. Straight sets, under an hour and a half, back home for Question Night. Job done.

It's a great response from the crowd, who want this match to go on a little longer.

Dominic Thiem serves to stay in the match. That he does. A 30-0 lead is wiped out by Milos Raonic, only for Thiem's slower serve to deceive the Canadian. But Raonic is now displaying more confidence than a member of One Direction on a dating app. He lurches forward again, wins the point, into deuce.

Raonic has already been in eight semi-finals this year, and he's won four of them.

Milos Raonic is a skyscraper of a bloke. I've seen tower blocks smaller. He uses his frame to great effect when Dominic Thiem - foolishly - tries to go over him, smashing down for a 30-0 lead. A couple of big serves are too hot for Thiem to handle, Raonic striding forward to win a hold to love.

Keep working on that return game, Milos. Raonic can't get near Thiem's serve, the Austrian holding to love. Raonic marches off, head down, muttering a few words to himself.
