    Watson 1-2 Wozniacki*

From a lengthy tug o'war game to one which is over in a flash. And, unfortunately for the home crowd, it is Heather Watson who takes a tumble backwards.

Caroline Wozniacki, a two-time Slam finalist remember, breaks Watson's serve to love.

Danger signs for Watto, who swipes her racquet in frustration after hitting long.

    *Watson 1-1 Wozniacki

After Watson eased to a comfortable hold, I tell you what Wozniacki wants, what she really, really wants... is an easy service game of her own.

(That's the Spice Girls gags done now, promise.)

She doesn't get it, however. Watson racks up a break point, but Wozniacki survives it and goes on to hold in deuce.

    Watson 1-0 Wozniacki*

The tennis equivalent of popping a couple Alka Seltzers* for Heather Watson. A hold to 15, including a whopping ace, give her a stomach settler of a start.

So two become one, as the Spice Girls memorably sang. Memorably to me at least.

Heather Watson is left as the only home hope left in Eastbourne. She is one match away from the final.

However, Caroline Wozniacki stands in her way. That's former world number one Caroline Wozniacki...

    They need not have worried.

Because within about 15 minutes, both women had recovered. Watson mentally, Konta physically.

Watson nabbed the break back from Barbora Strycova, going on to win the decider and book a place in the Eastbourne semi-finals for the second time in four years.

And moments later, Konta converted her fourth match point to join her in the last four.

    However...

Heather Watson was a break down in the final set of her Eastbourne quarter-final, Johanna Konta had just suffered a heavy fall as she closed on victory against world number one Angelique Kerber...
