    *Sharapova 6-4 4-6 2-0 Halep

Sharapova has not been in this situation for a while in a match of this magnitude.

She races to a 0-30 lead and is trying to fire herself up.

Halep gets back to 30-30 but another huge return gives Sharapova a 21st break point.

Like the second set it's followed by an error into the net.

A second break point, can she make this one count?

    Yes she can.

At last she gets the breakthrough, huge squeal of delight by Sharapova as Halep goes long with a return.

Halep is not happy at the other end of the court.

Surely Halep has to be the favourite now. But Sharapova has created so many break point opportunities and if she continues to do that, she has a chance.

    *Sharapova 6-4 4-5 Halep

Maria Sharapova is not giving this second set up and she forces two break points.

Both go by the way side as she overcooks her returns and we go to deuce.

A third break point goes her way but a 50th unforced error sees that opportunity fall away.

A fourth break point is also wasted, how many chances does she need?

Right, fifth break point, smashing Halep's second serve deep into the corner, but she can't follow it up.

    Back to deuce.

Halep gets a set point with her first ace of the match and Sharapova then goes long.

Second set to Halep, we're into a decider.
