    Fourth seed Elina Svitolina opened on the main court today and breezed through in style, registering a 6-4 6-4 win over Evgeniya Rodina of Russia.

    Up next is world number one Karolina Pliskova, taking on home favourite Nicole Gibbs, before Roger Federer plays Russian Mikhail Youzhny.

    It'll be Coco Vandeweghe to start the night session as she plays Tunisia's Ons Jabeur, followed by Rafael Nadal against Japan's Taro Daniel.

    Hello there. Welcome along to our coverage of day four of the 2017 US Open.

    There may be a frantic evening ahead in the football world but tennis fans are much calmer. The evening ahead is straight forward. The big guns are in town.

    Today's order of play is packed. Karolina Pliskova and Rafael Nadal, the players at the top of the men's and women's rankings, are in action as well as the greatest of all time, Mr Roger Federer.

    Throw in Dimitrov, Del Potro, Svitolina, Ostapenko, Thiem, Kuznetsova and this one really should be a cracker.
