Big hitting from the sixth seed, who goes 30-0 up with a couple of scorching serves.

But Federer attacks when Cilic doesn't make his first serve, and the Swiss' sprint into the net appears to put his opponent off.

    40-15.

I think this is why Roger's still playing.

When you've got a sold-out crowd with people following you, it must to be fun out there and easy. It's so natural.

That's an important hold for Marin Cilic, digging into his arsenal to pull out ground strokes with depth and power to get on the board in this fourth set.

Cilic has a little too often made an error on a make-able ball. He didn't that time.

When Marin Cilic gets his first serve right, it's unstoppable. But the Croat follows up a racquet-snapper with a double fault.

And "unstoppable" isn't in the Roger Federer vocabulary, at least when it comes to his opponents, he wraps a forehand winner to make it 15-30.

That's a fist-pump inducing return from Marin Cilic, whipping one beyond the defending champion.

But it's a minor blip for Federer. He holds.

Magic from the racquet of Roger Federer, a half-volley from mid-court to tuck Marin Cilic away.

A deep forehand from his own baseline that proves too tricky for the Croat to return, and then an aggressive body serve.

    40-0.

That's a little over-eager from the sixth seed, leaping into a forehand and powering it narrowly beyond the baseline.

A forehand into the net follows - 30-30.

I spoke to a Swiss lady outside the arena who follows him all over the world.

She got married and refused to take her husband's surname because her initials with her maiden name are RF.

Her husband then left her because she was so obsessed with Federer.

I said I'm very sorry and she said 'don't be, now my initials are RF and I get to follow him around the world so it's a happy ending'.
