So Cameron Norrie's Queen's quest is over.

You can watch the coverage of Queen's at the top of this page but you'll have to do so without my company. British teenager Jay Clarke is playing former Queen's champion Sam Querrey.

Before I go can I just recommend you have a read of Andy Murray's BBC Sport column.

He speaks about the difficulties during his time out and his hopes for the future.

    Wawrinka 6-2 6-3 Norrie

That is only Wawrinka's fifth Tour-level win of the season.

How far can he go in this tournament?

He plays the winner of the match between British teenager Jay Clarke and American Sam Querrey next.

Shego: Nice to see Stan get a win given I watched his match at Roland Garros thinking his career might be over.

    Wawrinka 6-2 6-3 Norrie

Stan Wawrinka after his victory: "I am really happy. It was a really good start. It is never easy in the first match on grass. I am happy to be back fit.

On his knee injury, he said: "In general it has been improving week after week. Now I feel really good on court, strong physically. I will have ups and downs in the next months and need to be patient. You need to be ready to accept frustrating but today was a great day."

  6. 'Norrie a lot better than that'published at 15:07 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

There will be better days for Norrie. That's a real disappointment in front of home fans.

He didn't really settle down and wasn't able to produce his best but he's a lot better than that and we will see a lot more of Norrie in the future.

    Wawrinka 6-2 6-3 Norrie

All over. Perhaps fittingly, the match ends on an ace from Stan Wawrinka.

It wasn't the best from Britain's Cameron Norrie. He never really got going.

Stan Wawrinka meanwhile will be happy to just get through the match after everything he's been through.

    *Wawrinka 6-2 5-3 Norrie

It's not over just yet at least. Norrie holds to force Stan Wawrinka to serve it out. Wooooops from the stands greet the Norrie volley that seals the game. They want more. I'm not sure they're going to get it.

The end could be nigh. A shank from the British number two and we're at deuce...

Another ace flies down off the Wawrinka racquet and Norrie also dumps a couple more shots into the net. The chance is gone. Stan holds.

Norrie's racquet takes another bounce off the grass...

    *Wawrinka 6-2 4-2 Norrie

Here's a chance for Cameron Norrie. A good return brings up 15-30 on the Wawrinka serve.

    The crowd clap their man...

Cameron Norrie is a lot better than this. He's not playing well today but has had some great success this season.

Now the racquet is thrown to the turf by Cameron Norrie after he hits a forehand way long. The frustration is building and building inside the 22-year-old.

He holds serve with a nonchalant drop shot but I'm not sure that'll help the Briton's mood much.

    Wawrinka 6-2 4-1 Norrie*

The crowd are doing their best to lift the British player as Norrie hits a clean backhand winner. They cheer loudly again but any hope for Norrie is snuffed out by yet another ace from Stan, confirmed via Hawk-Eye.

Norrie is looking frustrated in his chair while Wawrinka takes a slip of his drink and is already up skipping to the back of the court. He wants to get this over with.

  15. Wawrinka breakspublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    *Wawrinka 6-2 3-1 Norrie

Norrie can't blame the power of Wawrinka for that one. He hits a routine forehand long and shows his frustration as he mumbles to himself and lets his shoulders drop.

He follows that with a double fault and another error on his groundstrokes. Sloppy.

Wawrinka breaks. It's a long way back for Norrie from here.

    Wawrinka 6-2 2-1 Norrie*

I'd love to be able to give you some thoughts on how Stan Wawrinka is moving after his knee troubles but when he keeps banging down aces it's not easy to have a look. His powerful strikes are skipping off the lush green grass and either fly beyond Norrie or hurry him into a mistake.

  17. Postpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    *Wawrinka 6-2 1-1 Norrie

Good game from Cam Norrie. An easy hold and a shout of "come on". The crowd are trying to boost the British player as well. They make the most noise they have to so far in this match to celebrate Norrie getting on the board in this second set.

  18. Postpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    Wawrinka 6-2 1-0 Norrie*

That's better from Britain's Cameron Norrie at the start of this set as he begins with a return winner. Stan Wawrinka responds brilliantly though and nearly takes the head off a line judge with a rapid first serve. From 15-30 down Wawrinka holds, clinching it with another booming ace.

    That serve is frightening.

  19. 'Shocked to see Murray at Queen's'published at 14:39 British Summer Time 18 June 2018

    John Lloyd
Former GB Davis Cup captain on BBC Two

I didn't expect Andy to play Queen's after he pulled out of the Rosmalen tournament I thought he'd miss the entire grass season.

I was quite shocked to see him say he was playing but it's good to see him back and good for Queen's. He's not got an easy match to come back against Nick Kyrgios.

    Wawrinka 6-2 Norrie

This is the second match on this court today. Earlier Gilles Muller beat highly-rated teenager Denis Shapovalov in starlight sets with both going to a tie-break.

Tomorrow sees Andy Murray make his return to competitive tennis after almost a year out.

    Excited?
