Dan Evans has won two matches in a day to earn a place in next week’s Wimbledon qualifying competition.

The 28-year-old beat Marcus Willis in two tie-breaks, and then the world number 851 Jack Findel-Hawkins in three sets, to secure one of two places available through the LTA’s wildcard play-offs.

The All England Club decided against offering Evans a wildcard because he only returned from a doping suspension in late April.

Evans will have to win three matches at Roehampton next week to reach the main draw.

Djokovic's style of play was exhausting both for him and his opponents. It's going to take a lot of time to rebuild the stamina to play that style.

He was so good before the injury he could hit winners at will but now he is having to work very hard to find his way again.
