    Stefanos Tsitsipas is one of the NextGen players - young players who are seen as the future of the ATP Tour.

    The Greek is the youngest player ranked inside the world top 20 and won his first ATP title last year.

    He also beat Alex De Minaur at the NextGen Finals to claim the biggest title of his young career.

    Barty will face eighth seed Petra Kvitova, who beat American teenager Amanda Anisimova in impressive style.

    World number six Kvitova comfortably won 6-2 6-1 and remains one of the favourites to win the title.

    And in the men's draw, Frances Tiafoe celebrated his 21st birthday by beating former semi-finalist Grigor Dimitrov.

    The unseeded American won 7-5 7-6 (8-6) 6-7 (1-7) 7-5 to reach the last eight at a Grand Slam for the first time.

    World number three Rafael Nadal also swept aside Tomas Berdych 6-0 6-1 7-6 (7-4) to book his place in the last eight.

    Kerber, Barty, Kvitova & Sharapova

    Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber was knocked out by world number 35 Danielle Collins in the biggest shock of the tournament so far.

    Kerber was thrashed 6-0 6-2 in just 56 minutes by Collins who is making her debut in Melbourne.

    Earlier on Rod Laver Arena, home favourite Ashleigh Barty won nine games in a row to inspire a comeback against Maria Sharapova and book her place in the quarter-finals for the first time.

    Having lost the first set, Barty broke twice in the second and went on to win 4-6 6-1 6-4 in front of a packed out crowd.
