McNally 6-6 Watson
So close to losing the opening set, but Heather Watson does enough. Tie-break time.
*McNally 6-5 Watson
A lovely forehand down-the-line winner from Heather Watson saves one set point and McNally then wastes a second opportunity. Watson keeps the point alive before the American hits the top of the net. Deuce.
Let's have a quick whip around what's going on elsewhere...
Stan Wawrinka has taken the first set against Ruben Bemelmans to lead 6-3 1-2, while Roberto Bautista Agut is on the verge of going two up against Peter Gojowczyk - he leads 6-3 5-2.
In the women's draw, Elina Svitolina took the opening set against Daria Gavrilova 7-5 and leads 2-0 in the second, while Madison Keys leads 6-3 4-1 against Luksika Kumkhum.

Just like the work out area in your local park. But with Astro-turf laid out instead of those wood chippings which scratch your back when you’re doing sit-ups.
Oh, and just some of the world’s best tennis players.
This is the new warm-up area next to the Aorangi practice courts at Wimbledon.
Exercise bikes, treadmills, sprint ladders, sit-up mats, skipping ropes, medicine balls, pull up bars... you name it, it’s got it.
John Isner does a few sprint drills, Fabio Fognini stretches with some elasticated ropes, while Alexander Zverev loosens up with a gentle skip.

Well, here we go, another chance for Caty McNally to serve out the first set.
You must be clear in your mind how you want to go about it, be calm.
*McNally 6-5 Watson
Another bad service game for Heather Watson leaves her opponent again serving for the set.
Wawrinka 6-3 2-2 Bemelmans*
"He serves very few double faults."
You just know what is coming. Not just once, but twice.

Andy Murray has just arrived at Wimbledon, looking really relaxed and simply happy to be here.
As he walked up through the practice courts, a few fans spotted him: “Hi Andy!”
He shot them back a smile and a wave.

“Hit it, hit it” Watson shouts at herself, slapping her thigh.
And she certainly does for a great break at just the right time.
McNally 5-5 Watson*
Ten games, six breaks of serve. It's a first-round epic already. We're tied at 5-5 and the supporters are loving the action. This set has lasted 46 minutes and there's still plenty more to come.
Heather Watson saved herself last time out, will that failure to see out the set be playing on McNally's mind?
*McNally 5-4 Watson
Two fine drop volleys at the net lead to Heather Watson getting two break points. 15-40

Heather Watson has to rely on her movement, which is good, and she has the experience on grass as well.
*McNally 5-4 Watson
That could be a crucial moment. Once again, Heather Watson's serve lets her down and Caty McNally, a 17-year-old playing in her first ever Grand Slam match, is now serving for the opening set.
*Anderson 6-3 1-0 Herbert
No messing from Kevin Anderson. The giant South African breaks immediately in the second set, he could be home and hosed before lunchtime...
McNally 4-4 Watson*
Serving has been a problem for both players in this match and this is definitely not the best serve Heather Watson has ever produced - as it bounces before it even reaches the net, back in the opening game.
Watch here...
McNally 4-4 Watson*
Both players are getting into their stride now. Caty McNally holds her serve and it's 4-4. Who's going to take this open set?

Jez Does: Service not the strong suit for these ladies in this game, so far. Mental barriers at work here, in my estimation.
Andrew Neill: At what point in the Watson-McNally do we start referring to holds of serves as 'breaks' and vice versa based on how often holds of serve are happening?

“Was that out?” Watson asks after a serve.
“Yes, very.”says the umpire.
“Very?” says Watson.
“Yes, out.” is the reply.
So, not worth challenging then.
Anderson 6-3 Herbert
Big Kev shows his subtle side, dicing a drop shot just over the net to fox Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert. Ace number six takes the South African to set point, and last year's runner-up rattles down another huge serve to take the opener in 28 minutes.
