Alcaraz 6-4 2-2 De Minaur*
Back-to-back challenges from Alcaraz on balls called out.
He gets the first one right but not so much luck on the second.
He polishes off his service game with yet another stunning forehand to take the hold.
*Alcaraz 6-4 1-2 De Minaur
An important and deserved hold from the Australian purely for that shot on its own.
He was under a bit of pressure mid-way through that game with Alcaraz on the brink of two break points but the Australian did well to not have to face a single one.
Alcaraz 6-4 1-1 De Minaur*
Ohhh what a shot.
De Minaur hits a backhand volley across court then plays the most nifty little forehand drop shot with extra top spin over the net. That was so good and Alcaraz could get nowhere near it.
Under pressure at 15-30 down and at risk of having to face a break point, that was incredible.
The pair shook hands at the net after that one, even Alcaraz can appreciate a shot like that from his opponent.
Alcaraz 6-4 1-1 De Minaur
Another important hold for Alcaraz.
Can he now put some pressure on the Australian's serve?
*Alcaraz 6-4 0-1 De Minaur
Ahhhh so unlucky!
De Minaur powers across court in lightning speed as he so often does and manages to take a nifty little backhand.
He looks at the opposite side of court to where he actually places the shot and it completely wrongfoots the Spaniard who ends up on the grass.
That would've been an incredible point for the Australian.
*Alcaraz 6-4 0-1 De Minaur
A straight-forward hold to 15 for De Minaur.
Alcaraz looks to be moving fine after that medical timeout.
Ostapenko 7-6 (10-8) Krejcikova
Over in Birmingham, Jelena Ostapenko took the first set over Barbora Krejcikova after a mammoth tie-break which she won 10-8.
It's a close one, you can watch that over here.
Alcaraz 6-4 0-0 De Minaur*
Looks like Alcaraz is getting some strapping to his right quad.
It didn't seem like he was hindered by anything in that opening set so hopefully this is just a precaution.
Away we go in the second set.
Alcaraz 6-4 De Minaur
Alcaraz is just receiving a bit of physio it seems after that set.
He's doing a couple of stretches with the doctor in his chair and is going to take a medical timeout.
It's not cramps is it? That's what the Spaniard said had irked him in his semi-final loss to Novak Djokovic at the French Open.
Alcaraz 6-4 De Minaur
Ha! I just absolutely love that shot from Alcaraz.
He just seems to get bored mid-way through a point and decide to wind up the forehand. He grunts as he just hammers it over the net with venom.
That one registered at 94mph.
The crowd loved it, too.
He does it again moments later to take the opening set. Super stuff from the Spaniard.
*Alcaraz 5-4 De Minaur
Well what a ridiculous point.
A stunning backhand volley from Alcaraz forces De Minaur to send his shot into the net but both of these players are just making the other work so hard.
Cat and mouse tennis.
*Alcaraz 5-4 De Minaur
Alcaraz will now serve for the match and you just feel that break will have given him some confidence.
He gets his service game underway with a lovely drop shot for 15-0.
*Alcaraz 5-4 De Minaur
Breakthrough!
De Minaur sends his forehand long and Alcaraz finally has the break in the ninth game.
A huge moment in this tie.
"Vamossss!" says Alcaraz.
Alcaraz 4-4 De Minaur*
Oooh. First big mistake really from De Minaur.
He sends a simple forehand way out of court to give the world number two break point, his first of the match.
Alcaraz 4-4 De Minaur*
That was very, very cheeky from Alcaraz.
De Minaur's shot is very high and Alcaraz is waiting for it to come down, he sets himself and fakes the shot before waiting for it to bounce then hammering the volley.
He eventually sees out the game as De Minaur sends a forehand long.
What a game that was.
*Alcaraz 3-4 De Minaur
Alcaraz does well to rescue that then gives himself the advantage with a big forehand.
But then, how has he got to that?!
De Minaur puts the burners on to reach the backhand and lift it over to the other side of the court. Alcaraz had already made his move and the shot sails behind him. Back to deuce...
*Alcaraz 3-4 De Minaur
We haven't seen Alcaraz miss too many shots this tournament but that was a simple backhand and he just lifts it into the net.
Great shot from De Minaur to anticipate the Alcaraz drop shot and send his return whistling past the Spaniard for deuce.
He follows that up with a powerful forehand return and we have a first break point in this match.
*Alcaraz 3-4 De Minaur
The crowd are packed into the Queen's Centre Court with their sun hats and Pimm's.
What an afternoon for this super tennis match.
Meanwhile, it's pelting it down at my house.
*Alcaraz 3-4 De Minaur
Good serving from De Minaur.
He's certainly keeping the pressure on the Spaniard, who whips a forehand into the net to secure De Minaur the hold.
This is finely poised, at the moment.
