    Curling: GB 5-6 Sweden - Men's round-robin

All getting a bit tense out on the sheet. Sweden have a lengthy chinwag before their fifth stone, a few concerned expressions etched over the faces of Niklas Edin and co.

That's how much the four-time European champions are being tested by the British rink...

  2. Flock takes leadpublished at 13:08 Greenwich Mean Time 16 February 2018

    Skeleton: Women's heats

    Here's Austria's Janine Flock.

She's not as quick to start as Laura Deas but she catches up quickly. Flock gets her nose in front, though, and she leapfrogs the Brit at the top of the standings.

    Skeleton: Women's heats

Here's the world number two Tina Hermann, but she goes cracking into a corner midway through her run.

There's a big grin on Laura Deas face as Hermann clocks 52.31.

    Curling: GB 5-6 Sweden - Men's round-robin

After a tactical battle in the seventh, we finish with a blank end. Kyle Smith does the business for Britain, knocking Sweden's remaining stone out of the house and making sure his stone wanders out as well.

Why? So Britain can retain the hammer for the eighth end and, hopefully, the decisive 10th stone.

David Henderson: Why didn't the GB curlers try and freeze on the Swedish shot in that last end (end 6)?

We're directing these questions to Jackie Lockhart, our resident expert. She'll do her best to answer them!

You've just gone sliding down the ice on what's effectively a tea tray at 85mph, and the only way to stop yourself is to drag your feet and go head first into a massive yellow crash mat. It just looks painful!

It's a Canadian 1-2-3 at the moment, with Elisabeth Vathje leading the way after a run of 52.01 seconds.

If I could tell the boys anything it would be to check the scoreboard. It is hard to lose three mentally, but if you look at the scoreboard they are only one behind and you are playing well. Everything to play for.

Disaster! Kyle Smith misses a shot for the first time in the match, leaving the house open for a three-point robbery by the Swedes...

Sweden skip Niklas Edin fist bumps his pal Oskar Eriksson after his penultimate stone. They know.

Edin knocks the lonely British stone out of the way, putting the world silver medallists ahead for the first time since the opening end.

Don't get downhearted lads, it's still all to play for.

    Speed skating: Women's 5,000m final

Sablikova misses out on a third straight gold as she finishes just 1.62 seconds short of Esmee Visser, so the Czech great has to settle for silver while Visser celebrates a sixth gold for the Netherlands.

And it's agony with Annouk van der Weijden, as OAR athlete Natalia Voronina also clocks a quicker time in the final pairing to push her out of the medals entirely.

Amy Williams just said that when she's teaching new sliders, she tells them to "be like a potato - you have to be so still on the sled."

You have to get used to taking some absolute whacks off the corner of the track as well. The impact on the shoulders and arms must be awful.
