Great Britain need to beat bottom of the league Russian Olympic Committee and hope results go their way if they are to follow the British men's side into the final four.

This is going to be seriously tight. Gus Kenworthy scores 70.75 and that puts him 11th.

It's a much better run from the Team GB skier. He looked nervous before his first run, but he was far more relaxed this time round, singing and bopping along to whatever was playing through his headphones.

He doesn't look that pleased with that score.

Two periods gone, one to go in the ice hockey women's gold medal match with Canada holding a 3-1 lead.

Twenty minutes left for the United States to save themselves and the third period will start in just over 10 minutes' time.

Gus Kenworthy has it all to do on his second run if he wants to make Saturday's final.

This is his last Olympics, he will not want it to come to a premature end.

The bubble score for the 12th spot currently sits at 65.25, but Kenworthy probably needs to be aiming way higher than that to stand a good chance of progressing. A big ask.

Marie-Philip Poulin's two goals today means she has scored seven goals in four Olympics finals.

She scored both goals in the 2-0 win over USA in 2010, added another two in the 3-2 victory against the same opponent four years later and scored in the loss to the US in 2018.

At the moment I feel like these scores are very tight - there's not much in it.

Aaron Blunck made everything look really easy but Brendan Mackay's run was seat of your pants stuff. He kind of looks like he's falling out of a helicopter!

Massive from Aaron Blunck of the US. He scored 26.25 on his first run but a HUGE second sees him fly into first place with 92.00.

He had a horror crash in 2020, in which he lacerated a kidney, broke ribs, fractured his pelvis and bruised his heart. He was told by a doctor he was "so lucky" to be alive.

Hope for the US as Hilary Knight pulls one back with three minutes of the second period remaining.

It's a big old run!

A few years ago when David Wise was competing it was a case of everybody else competing for silver.

But he has dropped off the pace since the last Olympics with injuries. But he's always very technical and can always firm a run when he needs to.

The American goes straight into top spot with 88.75.

Defending champion David Wise will be the last to drop in. The American has won the halfpipe title at the last two Olympics.

However, at the age of 31, injuries might be catching up with him. He's failed to podium at the last two X Games.

Canada's Brendan Mackay is still sitting pretty at the top of the standings.

It's two goals for Marie-Philip Poulin and three for four-time Olympic champions Canada, who are set to reclaim gold after losing to the United States in the final four years ago.

This is going to be some fightback from USA if they can get themselves back into this final.

Finland's Jon Sallinen manages to take out a cameraman on the side of the pipe, catching the top of the camera with his skis as he lands flat on his back on the ledge of the pipe.

Amazingly, the cameraman seems to stay on his feet, and manages to not let go of his camera. Priorities.

We're back with ice hockey on BBC One and it's the women's gold medal match between Canada and the United States, with the Canadians two goals to the good.

Hours before Kamila Valieva prepares to skate, the US athletes whose Olympic medal is on hold because of her failed drugs test met International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach.

The Russian 15-year-old is favourite for victory in the women's event on Thursday but is at the centre of controversy after a court ruled she could compete despite the test result.

The IOC says there will be no medal ceremony if she wins, while those from the team event are also still pending until the anti-doping case is closed.

Valieva helped the Russian Olympic Committee to victory in the team event at Beijing 2022, with the United States second and Japan third.

IOC spokesman Mark Adams confirmed a meeting had taken place between the US skaters and Bach, but not with the Japanese because they "told us they fully accept the IOC's approach".

He did not divulge details of the meeting but American media reported the athletes had been offered Olympic torches for now instead of medals.
