Welsh strawweight Cory McKenna made UFC history in her second-round submission defeat of Miranda Granger at UFC Vegas 59.

The Cwmbran fighter became the first woman in the UFC to earn a submission win with the Von Flue choke manoeuvre.

The 23-year-old was successful with an impressive 81.1 per cent of her strikes before she submitted her American opponent.

Victory sees McKenna move to 7-2 in her career and 2-1 in the UFC.

Granger is now on a three-fight losing streak.
