Britain's Molly McCann will make her strawweight debut against Romania's Diana Belbita in Las Vegas on 3 February, the UFC has confirmed.

McCann, 33, is dropping down in weight for the first time in her career after two successive defeats at flyweight.

The Liverpudlian last fought in July, suffering a surprise first round loss to Julija Stoliarenko in London.

[Being] the smallest in the division makes it tough when the opponents are so much bigger," McCann said in July.

"So for me it's time to drop down and face the girls who are the same size!"

Last month McCann beat Julia Scardone via armbar in her pro grappling debut at Polaris 26 in Southampton, and was visibly emotional after the win.

Belbita, 27, heads into the fight with McCann following a defeat by Karolina Kowalkiewicz in October.

The event at the UFC Apex is headlined by a middleweight contest between Georgia's Roman Dolidze and France's Nassourdine Imavov.
