When Umar Nurmagomedov stepped on the scales this morning, it appeared he was 0.5lb over the bantamweight limit.

He looked at the scales with confusion, before stepping off and taking off his shorts.

When he stepped back on, he was 0.5 lb lighter at 136lb. I wonder if he accidentally left something in his shorts pocket?

    Nurmagomedov v Bautista

Dana White challenged bantamweight rivals Umar Nurmagomedov and Mario Bautista to "put on a show" if they want to guarantee a title shot next for the winner.

Let's see if they can make weight first.

    It's 135.5lb (9st 9.5lb) for Bautista.

Alexander Volkov has height and reach advantage over Jailton Almeida.

The six foot, seven inch tall Russian, who is ranked number two in the division, also has a major weight advantage.

Volkov tips the scales at 261.5lb (18st 9.5lb).

He is a staggering 24.5lbs heavier than his rival. Could that play a big role?

Aleksandar Rakic has lost his last three trips to the octagon but each of those have come against former light-heavyweight champions - Magomed Ankalaev, Jiri Prochazka and Jan Blachowicz.

Can he bounce back against an in-form Azamat Murzakanov, who at 36 years old has no time to waste.

I'm glad you've cleared that one up, Paul.

I was very confused with the prop but it all makes sense now.

One for Louie Sutherland to be way of then!

That's the preliminary card wrapped up. On we go to the main card...

If you're wondering why Valter Walker has just stepped on the scales with a fake severed foot around his neck, I think it's because his last three wins in the UFC have come via a heel hook submission...

I had to Google it this morning when he did the same thing at the official weigh-ins.

  12. "Tommy Aspinall"published at 15:13 BST 24 October

I've got a feeling a lot of Tom Aspinall fans arrived in Abu Dhabi either late last night or this morning.

The noise in the arena is on a different level compared to yesterday's news conference, and the "Tommy Aspinall" chant is being sung at every opportunity.

After bouncing around the regional scene and appearing a couple of times under the PFL banner, British heavyweight Louie Sutherland gets his big break on Saturday when he makes his UFC debut.

Sutherland faces Valter Walker who saw a bout with Mohammed Usman fall through on just a couple of days' notice earlier this month.

    It's a big 264.5 (18st 12.5lb) for Sutherland.

Walker, the younger brother of UFC light heavyweight Johnny, is 20 pounds lighter at 244lb (17st 6lb).

London's Nathaniel Wood is the first Briton in action on Saturday.

The featherweight is looking to make it three wins on the bounce when he faces rising prospect Jose Delgado.

Wood looks in great shape and weighs 146lb (10st 6lb).

American Delgado comes in a pound heavier at 147lb (10st 7lb). That means he missed weight by a pound but the fight still goes ahead.

Barring a loss to Muhammad Naimov in October 2023, London's Nathaniel Wood has been in impressive form.

The featherweight has won five of his last six trips to the octagon and is pushing towards the top 15 of the division.

Wood has won nine and lost three since joining the UFC in 2018 and has an overall record of 21 victories and six defeats.

Tom Aspinall might be a seven hour flight and 4,500 miles away in Abu Dhabi but he's well supported this week.

It's a huge contrast to the boos that Aspinall faced from French fans at the first news conference with Ciryl Gane in Paris in September.

A chorus of "Tommy Aspinall" chants - often just when French rival Gane was preparing to speak - was the most exciting part of yesterday's news conference.

As is the case with these kind of UFC fight week events, there is no messing around.

UFC president has just made his way to the stage and we're about to dive right into the ceremonial weigh-in.

We're not going to bring you all the weights from the preliminary card but there are a couple of Britons in action - Nathaniel Wood and Louie Sutherland - so we will let you know how they get on.

We're back for part two of our UFC triple-header this week.

In just over 24 hours we will get to see Manchester's Tom Aspinall make the first defence of his heavyweight title against France's Ciryl Gane.

Yesterday's UFC 321 news conference passed by without anything of major note and I think we should be expecting more of the same at today's weigh-in.
