Former National Superstock 600cc champion Lee Johnston will make his Isle of Man TT debut in 2012.

The Northern Irish racer will compete in the Superbike, Superstock and Senior TT races on a 1000cc Honda Fireblade for the East Coast Racing team.

"Coming from Northern Ireland, the TT has always been on my radar and I'm delighted to be getting the chance to race on this iconic course," he said.

The 23-year-old made his road racing debut at the North West 200 in 2008.

The same year he dominated the inaugural National Superstock 600cc Championship, finishing on the podium in 10 of the 12 rounds, as he ran out eventual champion by a commanding 41 points.

Last year he finished ninth in the solitary Supersport race at the North West 200, just one tenth of a second behind Guy Martin.

He added: "I've already been over to the Isle of Man and done a good reccy of the course with the rider liaison officers which has really whetted my appetite.

"I can't wait to get back for real at the end of May."
