Stuart Easton will return to the North West 200 in 2013 two years after suffering life-threatening injuries.

The Hawick rider has agreed a deal to compete for the Mar-Train Yamaha team at the North West in May and in the British Supersport championship.

Easton will ride a full stable of Yamaha machinery at the seaside course.

A former British Supersport champion, Easton spent a lengthy spell in hospital recovering from serious injuries in a crash during practice.

He rode for the Paul Bird Motorsport team in this year's British Superbike series.

He described his accident in which he suffered injuries including a broken pelvis, a broken femur and serious hand injuries as "a freak accident caused by mechanical failure".

Easton will be joined in the Mar-Train team for the British Supersport series by Carrickfergus rider Glenn irwin.

Irwin won last year's British Supersport Cup title for privateers.
