Andy Priaulx to race in 2015 British Touring Car Championship

Former triple World Touring Car champion Andy Priaulx is to race in this season's British Touring Car Championship.

The 40-year-old from Guernsey has not raced in the BTCC since 2002, but the works BMW driver will race for reigning champions West Surrey Racing this year.

Priaulx is , external after spending 2014 racing in the United States.

"I have the most amazing 2015 racing season ahead of me," said Priaulx.

Priaulx won three World Touring car titles between 2005 and 2007, external and spent two years in the German DTM Touring Car series in 2012 and 2013.

"In the BTCC the BMW 125i M Sport has already proved to be the car to beat in this ultra-competitive series and, after 13 years racing with the brand, I am really confident about what to expect in a Championship that I consider unfinished business," said Priaulx.

"Dick Bennetts' West Surrey Racing team has an incredible string of successes to its name, including the 2014 BTCC title, and I can't wait to work with all the guys there."
