A good first sector for Lewis Hamilton who is looking and is challenging for a front row.

Charles Leclerc clocks a 1:10.270!

Charles Leclerc, Oscar Piastri and Max Verstappen are. the top three drivers as the clock hits two minutes to go. Lewis Hamilton improves to move into P4, but soon moves down to P5 after George Russell goes into third place.

A decent lap, we probably can't expect too much more from a Williams but to find them in the top ten anyway on a street circuit like Monaco where overtaking is so difficult, if you start in the top ten then you are definitely in with a good shot on points.

Charles Leclerc is on provisional pole for his home race. World champion Max Verstappen is 0.149 seconds off the Ferrari man in third place.

Alex Albon has the track to himself, weaving past the luxury yachts and beautiful people. The Williams crosses the line to go into seventh place on the timesheets.

Verstappen is down on Leclerc and Piastri and crosses the line third fastest.

Oscar Piastri goes onto the front row in P2 while George Russell goes fourth and Carlos Sainz goes third. Max Verstappen is on his hot lap and can only go third fastest. There is no boost of pace in the final sector like last year for the Red Bull man.

For the likes of Gasly and Albon, what a great opportunity this is. If you end up in the Q3 session towards the back of that top ten, that's a wonderful start in the Monaco grand prix, and a great opportunity to score points.

Charles Leclerc says there is something loose around the pedal box, but that isn't enough to put the Monegasque driver off as he goes top of the timesheets with a 1:10.418.

The opening time on the board is from Alex Albon with a 1:11.805, then next to cross the line is Lewis Hamilton with a 1:10.975.

We genuinely don't know who could walk away with pole position for the Monaco Grand Prix.

Daddy Sainz has put the headphones on in the Ferrari garage. He wants to watch his son, Carlos, go for a flying lap first out of the remaining 10 drivers.

There is a real unknown here and it could quite frankly be any of the top five we've been discussing, but I think Oscar Piastri is in with a good shot here.
