Jersey's Team Jets lost their unbeaten record in South West Regional League One after going down 39-38 to Poole Aquarians on Sunday.
It was the island side's first loss in three years, although they are still top of the table after beating Hucclecote 45-35 on Saturday.
Poole had won their last five games and lost by seven in Jersey in October.
"When you're winning everyone's out there gunning for you to get your scalp," said Jets coach Linda Andrews.
"Once you've played everybody once they work on tactics to try and stop our play," she added to BBC Radio Jersey.
