Team Jets 'only going to get better', says coach Linda Andrews

Andrews' side has won one of their opening three matches this season

Coach Linda Andrews says Jersey's Team Jets will only get better after losing 39-38 to Cumberland in their first home Premiership Three match.

The island side led by two goals going into the final quarter in a close encounter at Les Ormes.

"It's gutting that we've only lost by one, but this is only our third game in this league, so we're only going to get better," Andrews told BBC Jersey.

"I'm really proud of the girls, it was a tremendous performance."

She added: "If we can keep performing like that I'm sure by the end of the season we're going to hit the play-offs."
