Powell-Davies takes Wales break to prioritise teaching

Wales netball star Ella Powell-Davies is taking a break from top-flight netball for 2024-25 to concentrate on her teaching career.
The 25-year-old goal defence or wing defence will not play for Welsh Feathers or in the Netball Super League (NSL) next season.
Powell-Davies wrote on social media: "Next season Superleague and International netball will look a little different for me.
"I have chosen to prioritise progressing my professional career in teaching so will be stepping away from Netball for the 2024-25 season to be able to do this.
"I have loved being able to balance both jobs for so long, but it is not easy and it was only going to get tougher to give both my 100% as the league goes professional.
"Of course this decision has not been easy at all but was one I always knew I would need to make at some point."
Powell-Davies played for Severn Stars last season, but they were omitted from the revamped NSL which will be launched in 2025.
