Former Antrim player Gearoid Adams has expressed his interest in succeeding Liam Bradley as the Saffrons' manager.

Bradley resigned last month after four years in charge amid speculation that he could become the next Derry manager.

It has since emerged that one of the reasons for Bradley's departure was his concern over a possible cut in funding for the team next season.

Adams formerly managed club side St John's and spent this year as joint assistant manager to Bradley at Antrim.

"Ultimately you want to get to the top level - that is one of the reasons you get involved in management in the first place," Adams told the Irish News.

Former St Gall's boss Lenny Harbinson has also said he would consider occupying the role if nominated or approached.
