Dungannon Swifts manager Darren Murphy has moved to strengthen his goalkeeping options by signing former Portadown and Glenavon player Tuda Murphy.

Murphy will contest the number one shirt with former Tyrone goalkeeper Jonny Curran.

The move comes after Niall Morgan opted to leave the Swifts in order to concentrate on a senior gaelic football career with Tyrone.

Murphy had already added striker James Costello to his squad last week.

The Swifts currently lie 10th in the Premiership table on 21 points.

"Tuda brings experience, having played in the Irish League for two good sides in Portadown and Glenavon," said the Stangmore Park boss.

"He already knows numerous players from the current Swifts squad and is a very welcome addition to us - I am looking forward to working with Tuda who will provide healthy competition for Jonny Curran."

Murphy originally hails from the Cayman Islands and has won several caps for his country.
