Derry's Chrissy McKaigue tries to hold off Wexford's Adrian Flynn

Derry earned their second win of the Division 2 Football League campaign as they impressively won in Wexford.

Two Emmet McGuckin points helped Derry move 0-5 to 0-0 ahead but Wexford hit six of the next seven scores to level before Derry moved two up by half-time.

Wexford's Ben Brosnan hit the first score of the second half but Derry responded with six unanswered points.

Midfielders Patsy Bradley and PJ McCloskey were among the Derry points as McGuckin finished with 0-5.

The Oak Leafers had Mark Lynch sent off in the closing stages after a second yellow card but it will have not unduly bothered manager Brian McIver after his team's impressive display.

Derry's win was all the more impressive given that Eoin Bradley was a late cry off from the team with Lee Kennedy drafted into the attack.

Enda Lynn and Sean Leo McGoldrick both produced excellent displays for the Oak Leafers as they got on the scoresheet while Lynch, fit-again corner-back Gerard O'Kane and James Kielt were also among the points.
