MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey will stage the big Ulster Senior Football clash between All-Ireland champions Donegal and Tyrone on 26 May.

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte said in November that the game should be played at a venue with a bigger capacity to allow more spectators to attend.

However, Donegal later began ground improvements aimed at increasing the capacity from 12,000 to over 17,000.

The Ulster Council confirmed on Tuesday that Ballybofey would host the tie.

The Ulster Football Championship will open on Sunday 19 May with the preliminary round game between Cavan and Armagh at Breffni Park (14:00 BST).

Donegal's clash with Tyrone will take place in Ballybofey a week later with a 16:00 start with Derry facing Down at Celtic Park on Sunday 2 June (14:00).

Antrim will face Monaghan on Sunday 9 June at Casement (15:30) before the concluding quarter-final between Fermanagh and Cavan a week later.

If Cavan are Fermanagh's opposition, the match will be played at Brewster Park while Armagh will have home advantage against the Ernemen if they win the preliminary round match.

The semi-finals will take place on Sunday 23 June and Saturday 29 June with the provincial final on 21 July.

Tuesday night's Ulster Council meeting also fixed the Ulster Under-21 Football semi-finals for Wednesday 3 April (20:00) with Donegal facing Derry at Healy Park and Cavan taking on Down at the Athletic Grounds
