Two first-half goals gave Monaghan a 2-11 to 1-12 victory in the Ulster minors semi-final against Cavan at Clones.

Cavan held a three-point lead before goals from Ryan McAnespie and Conor McCarthy helped Monaghan into a 2-8 to 0-8 advantage at the break.

Liam Galligan gave Cavan hope with an excellent goal late in the game but Monaghan held on to secure a two-point win and a place in the decider.

Monaghan will take on Tyrone in the Ulster final next month.
