Joe Gormley hits a hat-trick as Cliftonville secure a 4-2 away victory over Warrenpoint at Stangmore Park

Joe Gormley scored a hat-trick as champions Cliftonville saw off a gutsy Warrenpoint to make it three wins out of three in the Premiership.

Stephen Hughes struck a fine opener for Town but Gormley got the Reds level by running through to beat Jonathan Parr.

Ryan Catney fired in a great strike from outside the box but Stephen McCabe levelled with a penalty after he had been upended by Stephen Garrett.

Striker Gormley struck twice to give Cliftonville three 4-2 wins in a row.

So, a 100% record for the defending champions - but not a performance to leave team boss Tommy Breslin 100% satisfied.

"We were in second gear," he admitted.

"The players were warned to treat today like Windsor Park last week but we never really got started.

"We started sloppily and got progressively worse, but when you have Joe Gormley in your team you will gets goals.

"We have conceded two goals in every game which is a bit of a concern, but we have scored 12 so we are grand."
