London 2012: Molly Renshaw 'accepts' appeal hearing

Molly Renshaw's coach says they must abide by the decision to dismiss her appeal against her non-selection for the London 2012 Olympics.

The 16-year-old Derbyshire swimmer was left out of the squad having missed the qualifying standard at the ASA National Championships by 0.83 seconds.

Renshaw had previously achieved the time but her appeal was dismissed.

Andi Manley said: "Although we still don't agree with the outcome, we must abide by and respect the decision."

Renshaw's team appealed after she won the 200 metres breaststroke in Sheffield earlier this month in two minutes 27.72, just outside the FINA 'A' qualifying standard time.

She had swum the qualifying time before, recording 2:26:81 to finish second to Stacey Tadd at the first trial in March.

However the rules state only the race winner was guaranteed a place on the squad.
