Olympics badminton: Zhang Nan & Zhao Yunlei win mixed doubles

China's Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei claimed mixed doubles gold with victory over compatriots Xu Chen and Ma Jin.

The reigning world champions controlled the first game and took it 21-11, with Zhao dominating play.

Despite a recovery from Xu and Ma in the second, Zhang and Zhao battled hard to take it 21-17 and secure victory.

Denmark's Christina Pedersen and Joachim Fischer beat Indonesian duo Tontowi Ahmad and Liliyana Natsir 21-12 21-12 to claim bronze.

In the women's singles semi-finals, China's Wang Xin was beaten by compatriot Li Xuerui 22-20 21-18.

Li, this year's All-England Open champion, will face reigning world champion Wang Yihan in an all-Chinese final after she beat India's Saina Nehwal 21-13 21-13 in her last-four encounter.

The men's singles final will be contested between China's Lin Dan and Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia after they beat South Korea's Hyun Il Lee and and China's Chen Long respectively.

It will be a repeat of the Beijing 2008 final, which Lin won.
